"Trump fatigue" has already set in.

TWEET ME“Our long national nightmare is over"

With all due respect to Gerald Ford, I honestly believe that our "national nightmare" has just began.

In case you have not been paying attention, the president confirmed today, in an interview with Lester Holt, that all of his minions were either being lied to by him, or just flat out lying to us. Either way it's not good, and the stench is just getting stronger.

Mr. trump declared that he alone decided to fire James Comey, even though all of his spokespeople were busy telling us that some Deputy AG  in the Attorney General's office was the one who pushed for, and was ultimately responsible for Comey getting the boot.  For the record, the fall guy is not pleased, and he apparently does not like the fact that he was used by trump and his people to try and play us.

The bookies in South Philly are already taking bets on the over and under for the amount of days trump will last in office before being impeached (I think that he will limp to the end of his term), and the under is raking in the most bucks right now, but we will see.

Among other things I learned today that Mr. trump asked the man charged with investigating him and his administration- on three different occasions- if he was under investigation. Imagine that for a minute. Remember how upset republicans got when Bill Clinton met Loretta Lynch on that airplane in Phoenix? I do. Regardless of what was said, they moaned, it was not a good look.  And I agree with them, it was not a good look.  But if true, this is far worse, and you won't hear a peep out of right-wingnuts about it.

Over in Washington, the republicans have circled the wagons, and at least publicly, they are standing by trump and his team. Not one republican has had the decency to come forward and tell the emperor that he has no clothes. Outside of the beltway we are all dying of trump fatigue after just over a hundred days.

Personally, I am already tired of the guy. And I wish that he would just go away, play golf, and drive around in his gold plated golf cart all day. He would be doing all of us a huge favor.

Not all of us can handle nightmares.

Memo to HIllary: Time to hide Bill.

Image result for bill clinton imagesI am now convinced that Bubba does not want his wife to become president of the United States. I mean how else do you explain his boneheaded move to ----not so secretly meet with the Attorney General on an airport tarmac of all places?

Bill Clinton is supposed to be a world class politician, so he had to have known what the optics of such a meeting would mean. He had t have known that wingnuts and the FOX VIEWS crowd would be all over it. And honestly, I can't blame them. It just wasn't a good look.

Now the AG seems to be a fine lady, and I take her at her word that there was no discussion about the e-mail investigation with Bubba's wife, but as an experienced lawyer she should know the dangers of having anything even resembling an ex-parte conversation.

I don't take calls from other lawyers or litigants involved in any of my cases for a reason.

Finally, Hillary's husband is doing his best to sink her campaign, but she can take comfort in the fact that her opponent is trying to torpedo his own campaign as well.

Consider his numerous idiotic pronouncements over the past few days. Mexican planes attacking? Are you serious? No wonder his campaign is in chaos and his staff is bailing on him faster than a vegetarian from a steak house.

Now that I think about it, trump might not want to be president, either. I think that this was all initially a big joke to him, and that he woke up one day and said, Holy crap! I'm winning?!

Yes Donald, you are wining, and if Hillary doesn't put her husband in check, you will really be surprised come November.

Motown madness.

Image result for fox theater detroit debate images  Let's see now, where do I begin?

As America's political process sinks deeper into the abyss of hopelessness and despair, one major political party has become Exhibit A of what can happen when you allow hatred, blind passion without reason, and bigotry, to take hold of your party and its operatives.

Watching the republican debate from Motown last night almost made me feel sorry for my friends on the right. Almost. I was waiting to hear, Maury! Maury! Maury! from the wild and irreverent audience at any minute.

There he was, the presumptive nominee of the party, boasting to all the world about the size of his private parts. It was crass beyond belief, but not surprising given that earlier in the day he (trump) hinted that the man who was in his position four years ago would have done what Monica Lewinsky did to Bill Clinton just to get his support. (Imagine, if you will, Barack Obama boasting about the size of his Johnson in a national prime time debate such as the one we saw last night. It would have been BREAKING NEWS on every station including the sports networks.)

Lost in all the hoopla over trump's pronouncement was the big fat lie he told about his hand having never being an issue before. I swear this guy must think that the Internet stopped existing when he started running for president.

But that's trump for you; a man who changes positions even in the middle of a debate. I use the word positions loosely of course, because I still have not heard his position on one single issue. Well, except for the wall. I know where he stand on "the wall." Little does he know that if he gets elected he will have to  build a wall to keep Americans in. Even the illegals that are here will be trying to get out and they can't leave. Señor Trump, please let us go; we just want to go back to our families in Mexico.

The Washington Post found that the man has changed his mind 20 times since June for crying out loud! The third Mrs. Trump (Or is it four? I lost count.) must be getting nervous.

The antics of front runner was sad and pathetic, but what was scarier was some of the thing that he was actually saying.

His insistence, for instance, that he would order his military people to water-board enemy combatants even though it is an illegal act was terrifying and  Mussoliniesque.  He told that nation that they (the military leaders) would follow his illegal orders whether they wanted to or not.

"When asked about former CIA Director Michael Hayden’s recent comments that the military could defy unlawful orders to torture or kill civilians, Trump said, “They won’t refuse. They’re not going to refuse, believe me.”

But it's not only the despicable terrorist who would feel the wrath of the orange one, the families of the terrorist would be eliminated as well. Something about  the family of the 9/11 hijackers getting away. Another lie.

Anyway, today it seems that there was yet another position change my Mr. trump.

"Donald Trump has reportedly reversed his position on ordering the military to use torture against America’s enemies and to target family members of suspected terrorists, policies he has advocated while on the campaign trail.

The switch, indicated in a statement to the Wall Street Journal on Friday in which Trump said he understood that the US “is bound by laws and treaties”, came two days after prominent Republican national security and military figures published an open letter on the subject.

The letter stated “we are united in our opposition to a Donald Trump presidency” and adding that the authors were “obligated to state our core objections clearly”.

Those core objections included the statement that “[Trump’s] embrace of the expansive use of torture is inexcusable”.

The open letter also pointed to the question of whether the military would or could follow potential extra-legal orders made by a hypothetical President Trump without going through the secret process they use now to deem such actions legal." [Source]

Trump will be very upset about this, because, as we all know, Donald doesn't like it  when people oppose him.

Just ask John McCain.

"When asked about McCain’s comments by CBS News’s Major Garrett after the Republican debate in Detroit on Thursday, Trump said McCain had better watch out. “That’s not nice, he has to be very careful,” Trump said. When asked why, he added, “He’ll find out.” [Source]

Oh ohh, watch it senator; you might find yourself laying on a table with a towel over your face.

We are all in danger, and the "Gentler War on Drugs"

*
Image result for alabama frat tasing police images"First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Socialist.

Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Trade Unionist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me." `Martin Niemöller`

I saw the video of the police going all Rodney King on that frat boy and gal down in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. [Video]

All I have to say is that at some point even these  kids dripping with white privilege will see that if power goes unchecked they, too, will become victims of injustice at some point in their lives.

Now here we have these "normal" college kids waking up to the police gone wild as well.  Let's see if their parents and loved ones become more sympathetic to the plight of young men of color the next time that they see them getting the business from the police in live and living color.

Finally, in case you didn't notice, America has a heroin problem. States with lily white populations have seen an explosion of heroin use over the past few years and it is devastating a lot of these smaller communities far from those evil urban areas.

Of course we know that there will be no draconian drug laws like the ones passed during the crack epidemic that affected mostly poor people and people of color in the inner cities of America.

That won't be the case this time around, and I am quite sure that America will have a different response to this latest drug crisis.

"The New York Times recently published an article titled, “In Heroin Crisis, White Families Seek Gentler War on Drugs.”

In the piece, middle-class white families, mostly from suburbs and small towns, detail their traumatic experiences with heroin addiction, also known as “smack.” One white New Hampshire man interviewed for the piece talks about how he viewed people battling addiction as “junkies” until he recognized their faces in his own high-achieving, privileged daughter.

Here are some revealing numbers from the piece:

* Deaths from heroin rose to 8,260 in 2013, quadrupling since 2000 and aggravating what some were already calling the worst drug-overdose epidemic in United States history.

* Nearly 90 percent of those who tried heroin for the first time in the last decade were white.
No wonder “compassion” is the word of the day.

The article includes the personal and political positions of GOP presidential candidates Carly Fiorina, Jeb Bush and Chris Christie, all of whom have expressed that there is a need to decriminalize addiction. This is a glaring departure from the policies of the party of Ronald Reagan. It was through his backroom dealings with Nicaragua’s Contras that the war on drugs (pdf) intensified as crack cocaine and guns flooded inner cities, laying the groundwork for mass incarceration that has ravaged black communities; yet, here are his political descendants struggling to frame addiction as the health issue it has always been without making the GOP look like the party of hypocrites that it has always been.

Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton also has had to step into the breach in an attempt to sanitize the insidious racism that shades her husband’s legacy at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. Former President Bill Clinton was complicit in the passage in 1994 of the omnibus crime bill, which included the “Three Strikes Law,” thus expanding the war on drugs. He has since acknowledged and apologized for his role in the devastation that the bill caused for black families, but it’s much too little, much too late.

Hmmm, it seems that the "first black president" wasn't looking out for his constituents after all.

No "American Dream" for Bill.

I would like to thank Bubba for saying publicly and giving more recognition to what some of us so called "secular progressives" have been saying all along.

"Being a former president in the internet age means you don't necessarily need a TV network to interview you in order to get some talking points out there.
Case in point is former President Bill Clinton, who sounded off about the current sorry state of the American economy in a video produced by his Clinton Foundation. That video was then posted as an exclusive on the Yahoo homepage, giving his message reach well beyond what a typical network news interview might offer.

Some of Clinton's talking points:

>> Clinton said "the American Dream has been under assault for the last 30 - 35 years." Leading the charge, he noted, has been the changing priorities of multinational corporations, which have enhanced the influence of their shareholders while downplaying the role of their employees and the general public.

>> Among leading industrialized nations, America is alone in its fixation on "choking off" the federal government.

>> The United States is only about half as energy-efficient as some of its global competitors -- millions of jobs could be created by kick-starting some serious retro-fitting." [Source]

Tell us something we don't already know there Bubba. Of course the "American Dream" has been "under assault", and corporations have been the main perpetrators. This, of course, could not be possible without the help of at least half of the A-merry-can people who seem to believe that corporations really do care about them and their dream. They don't. These "cash hoarders" care about you about as much as I care about the republican presidential candidates.

For the next few days we will all enjoy how the party- bought and paid for by the wealthy-will claim that all attempts to raise taxes on those who are very rich will be an attempt at "class warfare".

Well, I will put it to you like this: If you are not paying your fair share and making it harder for the rest of us to achieve our A-merry-can dream; maybe, just maybe, there should be a war.

"I'm Not a Racist....I'm a Democrat"?

*
With all due respect to Keli Goff who wrote an excellent article for The Loop about racism and our right wingnut friends, I don't want folks to ever get the impression that it (racism) is only limited to the right side of the ideological spectrum. The fact of the matter is that some of our ideological soul-mates can at times be guilty of racism as well.

A liberal democrat is just as capable of being a racist as a conservative wingnut. I suppose the difference is that the liberal doesn't really think he is a racist and doesn't want to be painted as such. The wingnut, on the other hand, embraces his racism, and indeed wears it like a badge of honor.

My man Greg Fuller sent me an interesting article from Melissa Harris-Lacewell, who wrote it for The Nation which I want to share with you. After you read it tell me what you think.
"For weeks the media have been covering "racism in health care reform opposition." For the most part I've found this political moment to be an interesting opportunity to discuss the meanings of race, the history of racial exclusion and violence, and the ongoing realities of racial inequality in America.

But I have also been a little baffled as to why so many liberal white Americans are shocked about the sometimes explicit, but far more often, simply implied racial bias that has infected some of the opposition to the Obama administration. My scholarship and teaching center on issues of race, blackness, and African American politics, and while I believe "racism" is interesting and important; it is not exactly breaking news. Clarence Page of the Chicago Tribune laughingly suggested that he was telling his white liberal friends who were aghast at the vitriol aimed at President Obama, "welcome to my world."

My surprise that "racism" has dominated the news cycle for so long turned to tangible anxiety when President Clinton appeared on Larry King Live. Former President Clinton made a compelling case for health care reform and when asked about the racial motivations of the opposition he said:

"I don't believe that all the people who oppose him [Obama] on health care -- and all the conservatives -- are racists. And I believe if he were white, every single person who opposes him now would be opposing him then."

I agree with Clinton that the opposition to President Obama's plan is about health care reform, not about race. Any Democratic president who introduced health care reform was going to be met with vicious, organized opposition. No one knows this better than the Clintons whose own health care reform efforts were effectively shut down by organized efforts on the Right.....

But the part of the interview that worries me comes next, when President Clinton said,
"While I have devoted my life to getting rid of racism, I think this [health care] is a fight that my president and our party -- this is one we need to win on the merits."
This statement required a double take. President Clinton said that he has devoted his life to getting rid of racism? And no one challenged this assertion?

President Clinton has a very checkered past involving racial innuendo, stereotypes, and racialized political strategies. When he first ran for President in 1992 Bill Clinton attacked hip-hop artist Sister Souljah during his speech to Jesse Jackson's Rainbow Coalition. He likened her to former Klansman David Duke. After the 1984 and 1988 defeats of Democratic candidates, Clinton knew he needed to signal his independence from Jesse Jackson and the racially progressive wing of the Democratic Party. His unprovoked attack on Souljah was part of that active distancing. But, Clinton's strategy was complex. During that same election, he also appeared on the Arsenio Hall show where he played the Saxophone. Clinton has always been masterful at both embracing and pushing away from black communities, black voters, and black interests based on his own political needs at the moment. Some have accused President Obama of using similar tactics.

Clinton used welfare reform and crime legislation to cement his position as a moderate "new" Democrat. Clinton's policies made life substantially more difficult for poor black mothers and led to the incarceration of tens of thousands more black men. Repeatedly during his presidency Clinton found his way to the center by ignoring the material needs of black communities. He refused to fight for his nominee and law school friend Lani Guinier who was viciously and inaccurately labeled a "quota queen." And when his wife was battling Barack Obama for the Democratic nomination last year, President Clinton's own voice sounded shrill in precisely the same ways as some of Obama's current opponents.

Despite his office in Harlem and his efforts in Africa, I am unconvinced by President Clinton's assertion of a lifetime commitment to battling racism. "

Now what this author is asserting could be viewed as blasphemy in some left wing circles. I mean that is the "first black president" she is talking about. But is she wrong? And do you want to give her a "you go girl" for writing the following?

"The point is that some members of the GOP, the health care industry, and some people in the crowds are using strategies, language, and images that are meant to stoke racial fear and anxiety. Many have principled opposition to the reforms being proposed by the administration, but that opposition is swimming in a sea of racial ugliness.

But when I heard President Clinton's revision of his own political racial history it struck me that the biggest issue may not be uncovering racism on the Right, it may be that we are providing cover for racism on the Left. If opposing Obama means you are a racist, then supporting Obama must mean you are not a racist. No need to worry with substantive efforts to compensate historic injustices or address contemporary inequalities, just keep wearing your Obama '08 shirt and you can have a free pass on racial politics.

Racism is not the the sole domain of Republicans, Conservatives or Southerners. Not all racists pepper their conversation with the N-word or secretly desire the extermination of black and brown people. Racism is complex, multi-layered, and deeply rooted in the American story. Name calling is not helpful in uprooting racism, but neither is a false sense of moral superiority. "

I know that I do.

Mr. Morton, silence might be golden for you.

So now that it has been confirmed that the Breck Boy was getting some nooky on the side, the right wing attack dogs have been foaming at the mouth. Over at FUCK NEWS, as can be expected, it has been wall to wall coverage. One of their blond bimbo anchors and the house Negro with the fucked up toupee even had some clown on from the "National Inquirer" today. He was promising to give us more juicy headlines and drop another bombshell or two soon. *Yawn*. Can someone please wake me when this shit is over? Like we really care who or what someone is poking as long as they can do the job we elected them to do.

Here is the thing that a lot of these right wing crazies don't get: The only reason we are all over them when they are caught fucking around on their spouses, is because they are such a bunch of hypocrites. Bob Livingston going all out to get Bill Clinton, for the very same thing he was doing at the time, took balls. The lying piece of shit, Larry Craig, trying to get his freak on in a public bathroom, while publicly condemning gays and sponsoring legislation against homosexual behavior, took big ones. (No pun intended)

Which leads me to Mr. Morton. A word to the wise for the salty one: While this John Edwards thing is going down, you need to keep your damn mouth shut. You have been getting a pass from the A-merry-can people because you are a war hero, but you are no different or better than John Edwards. You did the exact same thing. You fucked around on your first wife. And from all indication, you have been fucking around on this one too.

But don't worry, your friends over at FAKE NEWS will realize this soon. And, as a result, they will ease up on the Breck Boy just a little bit. Let's hope that they do, because if they don't, folks will start pointing their fingers at you. And I am sure that this is the type of scrutiny you don't want.

Some special coons.

I know I retired the "Coonie Awards", but just for the sake of this latest Obama controversy, and the "O"man's campaign, I have decided to revive the "Coonies" just one more time. Some of these noteworthy coons are folks who have relished in the Reverend Wright fiasco, and have benefited in one way or another from it. But all of these Coons have distinguished themselves by contributing to the downfall of A-mery-can politics and discourse.

1. Bill Clinton: You may have been the "first black President", but Bubba, black folks don't love you anymore. And after all the dumb shit you have been saying lately, can you blame them?

2. Geraldine Ferraro: (Yes Geri, white women can be Coons too) A Black man is lucky to be born black in A-merry-ca? You must have lost your fucking mind. And you are upset because you were lumped with Jeremiah Wright? My question to you would be why? You are more dangerous than the good Reverend. You ran for the second highest office in the land, he did not.

3. Robert Johnson: Mr. Johnson, having money doesn't shield you from being a Coon, it only makes you a rich Coon. Owning that coon acting, rump shaking, coonfest network was bad, but your comments about Barack Obama during this election cycle was over the top. Try taking some of that money of yours and buying a fucking clue.

4. Juan Williams (And all other people of color who accept invitations to appear on FAKE NEWS) Juan, I am really torn about you; but I think I am going to send you a Coonie. If only because you are on that racist propaganda network, and because I am sure that you are cashing that Rupert Murdoch check. You also represent a very troubling trend: Whenever FAKE NEWS offends black folks by doing what they do, they trot out folks like you to make A-merry-cans think that we (Black folks) co-sign with their bull shit.

5. Andrew Young: See John Lewis for how an icon from the civil rights era should behave. First Wal-Mart, and then your behavior during this election primary. My god man, get off the stage.

6. Ken Blackwell: Some folks have made the argument that this coon actually cost the dumbocrats the White House in 2004. As the Secretary of State of Ohio, he was partially responsible for some of the voting irregularities that took place there. Irregularities which benefited the rethuglicans and George Bush. That alone gets him on this list. And when I see him on television night in and night out bashing the "O" man, I have to wonder about his true motivation behind that shit.

7. Glen Beck/Sean Hannity/Bill Orielly: I support the First Amendment as much as the next person... but these clowns really make me wonder sometimes.

8. Tavis Smiley: Tavis, I tried watching your TV show the other night, but I couldn't get that green tint from my television screen. I just can't figure out if it was caused by your envy of the "O" man, or if it was due to all that corporate money you have been raking in lately.

9. DMX: Sorry, I have to give this dumb ass Negro an award. You never heard of Barack Obama, and you are proud of that shit?

10. Pat Buchanan: Every now and then you make sense, but thanks to the Obama run for President, your true colors have been showing.

Okay, now the "Coonies" are officially retired for real.

Happy Easter!

The Dance Card.

"I have to say that you know, you know, I would have to, you know, investigate more of Bill's dancing abilities you know, ad some of the other stuff before I can accurately judge whether he was in fact a brother."

Those were the words which the "O" man uttered to the CNN moderator the other night in response to a question about whether Bill Clinton was actually the "first black president." Of course the "O" man caught some flack from some folks, but it didn't bother the field one little bit. Hell, I was just wondering what kind of test I would use to find out if Bill was really one of us in disguise: "Quick, what's your favorite EWF song? "And if the son of a bitch broke out with "Reasons" without even blinking an eye, I would quickly have another one for his ass: "Do you have to use lotion in the winter time?" Or, "how do you know when you are being followed in a department store?" Or, "have you ever been stopped by a very polite state trooper who just wanted to see your license, proof of insurance, and registration please?" See, there are other tests I could give Bill other than merely wanting to know if he could dance. I mean come on "O" man, some of us can't even dance, and we are brothers fo real. But I get it, Bill and Hillary are playing the race card, so you might as well play the dance card right back at em.

Of course Hillary had a come back for the "O" man. She wanted the "O" man to know that it could be arranged for a sit down with Bill to see if he was really a brother or not. Mmmmm.....now if Hillary really wanted to set off some political fireworks, she could have said something like: "Hey, he sure seems like a brother to me." But then I am sure Michelle Obama would fire off a statement the next day saying something like: "Hillary I know what it's like to be with a black man, and trust me, Bill ain't no black man." To which Hillary might have then replied........ahh fuck it, I am going to leave this one alone. But you get the point. This is what happens when we combine race with our politics folks, there is just so much craziness we can endure in one political season. I know Toni Morrison regrets making that A-merry-ca's first black prez statement, because folks have been running with that shit ever since. And the scary thing is that Bill himself is actually starting to believe that shit. That's why he is so comfortable talking about the "O" man every chance he gets. He thinks he is one of us.

But I bet Bill couldn't pass my little pop quiz, oh he might be able to dance his ass off, but I used to see white boys on Soul Train all the time.

A funny thing happened on the way to Pennsylvania Avenue.

Hold those Luther CD's for the White House. It might be still early, but I am watching these returns from the New Hampshire Primary, and it looks like the folks from Hope might still have a few tricks up their sleeves.

I just read this article over at Slate magazine:

'Gender," writes Gloria Steinem on the op-ed page of the Jan. 8 New York Times, "is probably the most restricting force in American life." That is incorrect. Poverty is the most restricting force in American life. It's become somewhat unfashionable to point this out, but I don't see how it could be otherwise. Given the choice between being born poor and being born female, which would you choose?

Steinem's occasion for making this wildly obtuse statement is the New Hampshire primary, which Hillary Clinton will likely lose to Barack Obama, a black man. Steinem's column can be read either as a desperate last-ditch appeal on Hillary's behalf or (more plausibly) as an anticipatory complaint that sexism did Hillary in. "I'm not advocating a competition for who has it toughest," Steinem writes, but her enshrinement of gender as the No. 1 obstacle to the pursuit of happiness in the United States gives lie to that. So does her remarkably petty observation:

Black men were given the vote a half-century before women of any race were allowed to mark a ballot, and generally have ascended to positions of power, from the military to the boardroom, before any women (with the possible exception of obedient family members in the latter)...
"

So the Clinton's have called out their big guns-- such as Steinem --to make the case for gender over race. If you are a suburban white *woman* [thanks woozie] in A-merry-ca, you must be really torn now. You love Oprah, you love the rosy feeling that "O" gives you, but you are a woman who wants to see one of your own in the White House before you die, and this might be your last chance. So far women are breaking for Clinton 47% to 34% in NH, and regardless of the final results, the coronation must be held up for the "O" man.

Now as a trial lawyer, I have always wanted to be able to cry on cue. In law school we used to joke about putting an onion in our handkerchiefs and being able to use it judiciously during closing arguments. I am not saying that's what Hillary did with her little break up moment, but it sure worked. And let's not forget BJ Bill coming out and wagging those fingers at the voters of NH. Demanding that they support his wife after those wonderful years of prosperity he gave them.

Word to my man Christopher and all the other "O" supporters out there; it's not over. And it's not just Hillary. Don't sleep on the "Breck Boy", I just caught his speech, and it was good. Don't forget; he is a white male, and this, after all, A-merry-ca. There are also urban areas and cities to be fought for, and big city party machines like the one here in Philly, are squarely in the Clinton camp. Then there are all those greedy preachers with their hands out; always willing to sell out to the highest bidder. In this case it could be the Clintons.

OK, so 2 down, 48 to go. And even though "O" lost. The field is feeling more and more like he is back on that bandwagon. Call me crazy, but I always love an underdog.

It should be fun.

Do as I say not as I do.

"Hypocrisy is the compliment vice pays to virtue" ~La Rochefoucauld~

With this post I would like to talk about some serious hypocrites occupying center stage in America these days. The other night I caught a glimpse of the republican presidential debates (so male and so white) and while watching these frauds, I couldn't' help but think about what a bunch of hypocrites the Republicans are.

Let's take a look shall we. We will start with the poster boy for flip flopping, Mr. Mitt Romney. Now here is a guy who is now opposed to a woman's right to choose, yet at one point not too long ago, he was all for it. He also opposes Gay unions; yet, at one point in his career, he was all for that as well. Not to mention the second amendment thing, he was all for gun control before he decided to run for President and became a life long member of the NRA. Hypocrite!

But my good Mormon friend is not alone. Up there on the stage with his republican colleagues, was the former mayor of New York, Rudy Gauliani, who has some interesting skeletons in his closet his own damn self. Now to be fair to Rudy, I have not really seen or heard him openly point fingers at Bill Clinton. But those whose votes he is eagerly pursuing certainly have. Poor Bill still can't live down Monica; and let's make no mistake, Bill loves the ladies, but apparently so does Rudy. Talk about f****d up personal life. Here is a guy who married his second cousin and had the wedding annulled. Then he has an open affair while he is Mayor of New York, dumps his wife for his mistress, and holds a press conference to announce it for crying out loud! And of course there is John McCain, who was for the state of South Carolina displaying the confederate flag before he was against it. And was against drilling for oil in the ANWAR before he was for it. All of these men personify the new American hypocritical spirit. Oh yes, America the beautiful, a country whose founding fathers epitomized hypocrisy, (Think Thomas Jefferson and all those slaves) was built on the backs of slaves, and the massacre of millions of natives who were here first.

Hypocrisy rules the day in our religion, our personal lives, and our foreign policy as a country. For instance, we invade a country and overthrow its leader, because he stifled individual freedoms and liberties. Yet, our own leader suspends our individual freedoms and circumvents our Constitution because he felt like it. Talk about hubris. We chastise countries for not treating all their citizens equally, yet we have a history of treating our own citizens differently based on their race and their class in our own country. (Think Katrina. "George Bush doesn't care about black people" I know Kanye it sure doesn't look like it). I think of that hypocrite Bill Bennett (a Republican of course) who was preaching virtues to us, while he was dropping thousands of dollars on the crap table. Not to mention, that chicken hawk, Paul Wolfowitz, (one of the people responsible for our country being at war) who hooked his little, ahem, friend up with a serious pay raise just because she is his, ahem, friend. I won't even get into our favorite Attorney General, gonzo, who in my humble opinion, is one of the poster boys for hypocrisy in Washington. But then, he wouldn't have gotten to his position (the frat boy's right hand man and one of his chief confidants) if he wasn't.

But I will give the republicans credit, they sure know how to play the game, and while they are doing it, they have an entire country fooled. To the average Joe in America, the Republican party is the party of virtues, moral consistency, and family values. Boy are they wrong.
