Demonizing a movement.

The debate is so silly. "Why do they say that only black lives matter? Don't all lives matter?"

Let's think about that for a minute. The name of the movement is not only black lives matter, or, white lives don't matter. It's not even something as intimidating to hear as say, Black Panthers, or Black Power. The name itself is tame: Black Lives Matter. All of us who identify with the movement in one way or another are still scratching our heads over the majority population's issue with what it represents.

To listen to people like Sarah Palin and other right- wing zealots, you would think that the black lives matter movement is right up there with Isis as a group that should be feared in this country.

It's why I am not sure of what to make of some of the platitudes coming from politicians in Washington. There is a disingenuous nature to all of it. Let's just strike the right tone. Even though deep down we feel just like Sarah Palin and Bill O'Reilly.

I listened to Charles Blow on CNN last night, and he made an excellent point to Don Lemon, who was doing his usual best to make his white listeners feel comfortable.

I am paraphrasing, but he said something to the effect that he should not be apologizing for his blackness, and the burden shouldn't be on him to have to teach folks in the majority not to be racist. He argued that he is the one being victimized. Why should the one doing the victimizing, he wanted to know, get a pass?

He is right. The debate about racism and injustice in this country has always been about blaming the oppressed. If you call out racism, you are the racist. If you see injustice and speak on it, you are rocking the boat. "Can't we all just get along?" 

We could. But the charlatans and hucksters who are profiting from making poor and marginalized white people believe that  black people are the root of all of their problems would never stand for it.

On a personal note I need folks to understand something: If we never come together as a country it will not effect my life one bit.

It won't make my home or wife any less beautiful; it won't take a dollar out of my bank account; and it wont raise my golf score or improve my second serve or the quality of my backhand in tennis. I will continue to enjoy the life I have now, and the memories of a wonderful life that I have lived to this point. 

This debate is about the people (black and white) who have been marginalized in this country, and the systematic and institutionalized racism that keeps tearing our country apart by denying people at the bottom of the social and economic ladder real opportunities.

To blame this on the black lives matter movement is just silly and wrong. It strikes me as people who need to look at themselves and their own short-comings, trying to find an excuse for something that they have failed to do.    

This struggle for social justice and equal rights is not about black versus white; it's about the survival of this country. The sooner we all realize that and stop trying to blame or situation on a movement formed around a hashtag, the better off we will be.

10 white people who used to be black.

In lieu of some white dude declaring that Stacey Dash is no longer black, not to mention all the racial confusion we had with folks like Rachel Dolezal earlier this year,  I have decided to publish a list of ten white people who used to be black.

1. Stacey Dash- This was a no-brainer. This washed up actress used to get roles primarily on Black Entertainment Television, and pose for pics in black male magazines. [see pic] But then she started getting older and less attractive, so she decided to become white, as she is quite aware that there are some white folks who will no doubt appreciate her for her intellect.   

2. Clarence Thomas- I know that this dude still looks black, but that's just an illusion. Believe me when I tell you, he is white. Or at least he really wishes that he was.

3. Don Lemon- This (former)Negro was born and raised in Louisiana, where they have the brown bag test. He passed it so much that he actually started believing that he was not a part of the folks who failed it.

4. Allen West- If you ask Allen he will tell you that he was never black in the the first place. He just has a really nice tan from living in Florida.

5. Pharrell- Hey, I love Pharrell too. But we have to let him go, people. 

6. Raven-Symoné- Raven started off as a black child star, but she stared getting whiter as she got older. The transformation is now complete.

7. Harris Faulkner- Girlfriend had me fooled for a minute. Not anymore.

8.  Ben Carson- There is no way a black man could get all those evangelicals from the Midwest to support him. I think Dr. Ben hypnotizes those poor old people with his voice. **I am white, I am white. ** 

9.  Amy Holmes-The networks like to bring on Amy to add some diversity to their lineups. The joke is on them.

10. O.J. Simpson-Wait, this is a mistake. My bad folks. O.J. was actually white for awhile, but apparently he is black again.

(Hmmm, I need at least one sports figure......)

Ok, I will go with Tiger Woods. Although something tells me that he will be black again real soon.

Nice Negroes, and a "bad boyfriend" has a birthday.

I love when some folks try to play the nice Negro.


Don Lemon is the latest example of playing the nice Negro role. He was busy talking about unifying America and coming together as a nation on the radio today. Apparently he was inspired by all the unity Americans were showing for each other around the World Cup, and the love the players showed for each other on the pitch.


Don, bless his heart, doesn't want us to be Americans with a "prefix" anymore.


Anyway, here are just some of the comments directed at Don the nice Negro.

Don, in case you didn't notice, most Americans don't know the words to Kumbaya anymore. (See Anthony Cumia's latest rant)That all changed about six years ago.

Anyway, reading what Don Lemon had to say got me thinking about what Denise Clay wrote for Solomon Jones.com. It is a much more cynical, and some would argue, realistic view of America.

"Sometimes for people of color, America is like this really bad boyfriend that has taken your brand new car without permission, smashed it into a wall, given you no help with car payments or gas, but because you love him and he's always apologetic, you stay."

To stay with the analogy, I guess the 4th of July is like your anniversary, and he just brought you a beautiful bouquet of flowers.











 












  

The N-word apologists.

I really didn't want to get into this Justin Bieber N-word debate. There are far more important things going on in the world than to worry about whether a minimally talented teen idol is a racist.

But there is an aspect of this story that I want to address because I believe that it is important.


It is this penchant that some in the black community  (I see you Whoopie)have of jumping to the defense of those who have been accused of being a racist, or their urge to blame others for the behavior of the racist.

I am thinking of Don Lemon and Usher Raymond when I write this.


First, Don Lemon. This Negro had the nerve to declare that it is black folks who use the N word that causes folks like Justin Beiber to use it.

Some are saying Bieber is racist. Is he? I don’t know. But I do know that this is the danger of the proliferation of the use of the n-word. So the question is, if you want people like Justin Bieber to stop using it and to stop making excuses for using it, shouldn’t you do the same?

Wrong Don. I don't care how much Justin Bieber has "immersed himself in black, Hip Hop culture", that word is off limits to him. High profile black folks such as your should not be jumping to excuse the ignorant actions of Beiber or anyone else.

Then there is Usher. I suppose that because he discovered Bieber he felt a need to jump to his defense as well.

As I have watched Justin Bieber navigate difficult waters as a young man, I can tell you that he hasn't always chosen the path of his greatest potential, but he is unequivocally not a racist. What he was 5 years ago was a naive child who did not understand the negative power and degradation that comes from playing with racial slurs. What he is now is a young man faced with an opportunity to become his best self, an example to the millions of kids that follow him to not make the same mistakes."


Bieber apologized a second time on Thursday after a new video, reportedly taken when he was 14 years old, surfaced of him repeatedly using the N-word and joking about joining the Ku Klux Klan in a racist parody of his hit 2009 song One Less Lonely Girl. "Facing my mistakes from years ago has been one of the hardest things I've ever dealt with," Bieber said in a statement. "But I feel now that I need to take responsibility for those mistakes and not let them linger. I just hope that the next 14-year-old kid who doesn't understand the power of these words does not make the same mistakes I made years ago. At the end of the day I just need to step up and own what I did."


The first of these videos emerged earlier this week and was apparently recorded during the making of the 2011 documentary, "Never Say Never." The video shows a then 15-year-old Bieber telling the joke, "Why are black people afraid of chainsaws?" Despite a number of objections voiced by those around Bieber, he delivered a racist punchline, "Run [slur]," imitating the starting and revving noise of a chainsaw. [Source]


Usher has declared that Bieber is "unequivocally not a racist". I wonder how Usher Raymond knows this. Is it because he hangs around with black people? Is it because he has slept with black woman? Is it because some of his music sounds black? The truth is Usher Raymond does not know what lurks in the heart of Justin Bieber. We have a clue because of some of the things that he has said in what he thought were private moments. This is how the racist is always caught: when he or she chooses to reveal him or herself in what they believe is a private moment. (I see you Donald Sterling)


Whether he is a racist or not, Justin Bieber certainly seems to be a first class jerk with little or no home training. The sad thing is that he has millions of fans all over the world who look up to him.


The good news is that his star is fading, and in the near future when he inevitably drops the N-word again; he will be just another washed up singer trying to get attention.






















  

Another Negro pisses off Ted.

The GOP's favorite son, Ted Nugent, has been all over the news lately. The folks over at CNN are really upset at Pedophile Teddy, and, like MSNBC with "Christiegate", and FOX Views with Benghazi, they will not let it go.


Ted, of course, is fighting back. Now he is going after Don Lemon. This makes sense, because Don Lemon has the highest profile of any black person on CNN.
And in case you didn't notice, Teddy doesn't like black folks too much.


"Unable to leave well enough alone, Ted Nugent took to Twitter on Friday evening to bash Don Lemon presumably after viewing the segment in which the CNN host accused the rocker of giving a disingenuous apology for his “sub-human mongrel” Obama remarks.


Speaking with Ben Ferguson this afternoon, Lemon suggested Nugent’s apology came with too many caveats and sounded “like he’s apologizing to himself or, possibly, to powerful Republicans who might have gotten him to take it back and do it fast.”

OK Ted, we get it, you are certifiably nuts. Now the big question is this: How many more GOP supporters are out there like you?  


Finally, I am not sure if I am happy or sad to learn that the noose found around the neck of the statue of a civil rights icon at the University of Mississippi was put there by members of a well respected college fraternity.


It's a good thing because it is not a hoax. This is good because when people lie about these things it diminishes and trivializes the real racism out here.


It's a bad thing because you would think that college educated young people would be too smart to embrace the ignorance that is usually reserved for your garden variety racist.


The three former members already face vandalism charges, but the university has also turned over its evidence to state and federal authorities. If it is determined that the noose — which was accompanied by an old Georgia flag bearing the emblem of the confederacy — represented a threat to other students, they could face hate crime charges.


The man who found the vandalized statue last Sunday said that two men walking away from the scene were uttering racial epithets. “I came up on a couple younger-looking boys by the loading dock that were yelling ‘white power’ and ‘f— n—–s’ on my way back over towards the statue,” he said. “When I rounded the corner of (the George Street House), I noticed the rope and the flag, and it definitely showed the Confederate flag.”


Just frat boys being frat boys.

Please call off the "Drop Squad". Don Lemon might be coming around.

I still can't believe that CNN found it necessary to let George Zimmerman pimp himself out to them. All the good they did by covering the Michael Dunn trial the way that they did, was overshadowed by promoting and conducting the Zimmerman interview.


Sadly, money always wins out in the end.


BTW, I hear that George Zimmerman declared that he is homeless in that interview. If he is, I would like to personally prepare a place for him right here in Philly to stay.


Speaking of the Michael Dunn trial, I guess Don Lemon might not be moving over to FOX Views after all. (And he tried so hard to be the straight shooting black man who isn't afraid to call out his own people.) Apparently he pissed off the white establishment over there and today they let him have it.


"Before the verdict in the Michael Dunn trial was announced Saturday (found guilty of four charges, including second-degree murder, but a hung jury on the question of first-degree), CNN’s Don Lemon very clearly expressed on the air how outraged he was at the whole thing, saying it should be a very clear, open-and-shut case for the jury.


Today Fox News anchor Gregg Jarrett fired back with some pretty personal barbs aimed at Lemon and his knowledge of the law.


Jarrett blasted Lemon for lacking objectivity about the case and called it “pathetic” that Lemon would feel personally affected by the case. He said, “The sum total of what Lemon knows about the law and this case… could be written on the head of a pin. And there would be plenty of space left over.”
He concluded by tweeting, “What a pompous, pretentious jerk.”' [Source]


"Lacking objectivity"? That's rich. A Fox Views host attacking someone for lacking objectivity. News flash, he is a black man in America; he should be personally "affected by the case".


But the reverse race- baiters over at FOX would never see it that way, they are too busy defending the Michael Dunns of the world and their right to kill innocent teenagers.


Of course FOX and their news people had a chance to show us how to cover a story the proper way but....wait....they never touched this story.


Hmmm, I wonder why? 


Still, I am glad to see that Don Lemon fired back at this clown.


Don, I might have to remove you from the house. In fact, I am calling the Drop Squad right now.

Channeling his inner George Zimmerman, and Clarence has a pity problem.

The jury is still deliberating in the Michael Dunn trial. It's been almost four hours since the closing statements. Negroes are getting nervous. "Could this really be happening again?" This is starting to become a trend: Young black males are such a "perceived" threat, that if they act too aggressively towards "normal citizens" (see white folks) they should be shot and killed.


Michael Dunn is the latest vigilante who felt "threatened". Unfortunately for Mr. Dunn, however, he doesn't seem quite as calculating as the infamous George Zimmerman Killerman.


But hey, we will see. If this prosecutor loses again he should resign from office forthwith.


Finally, I want to talk about two Negroes. One is firmly and comfortably in the house, the other is trying hard to get in and has been spending most of his time convincing "Mr. Charlie" that he belongs.


The first Negro is Clarence Thomas. This Negro recently declared that here in America we are too sensitive about race. This is an ironic statement coming from Clarence, since if only we had been more sensitive about the issue of workplace harassment 23 years ago ,he would not have been a member of the Supreme Court today.
This is the latest "woe is me" pronouncement from a man who has mastered the art of playing the victim. ("High tech lynching" my ass.) Now it is "Northern liberal elites" picking on him because he dares to be a conservative black man in America. Please! It sounds like Clarence Thomas is the one who is overly sensitive if you ask me. 


Then there is Don Lemon.


I was really hoping to move on from the Samuel L. Jackson interview with that "entertainment reporter" who mistook him for Laurence Fishburne. But now this Negro Lemon had to weigh into the mix, and as is always the case with these types of Negroes, he chooses to soothe Massa's conscience by making this about Jackson overreacting. Because don't we all have a hard time telling members of the same race apart? Yes, I confuse George Clooney with Steve Buscemi all the time.


Then, to make matters worse, he tries to sell us on a ridiculous analogy about plaid shirt wearing guys in Brooklyn. (Still scratching head on that one.)


Make no mistake; Negroes like Lemon are kept around places like CNN to be the resident Negro who tells ignorant and clueless white folks exactly what they want to hear: "It's those blacks who complain too much Massa; there is nothing wrong with what you said. Those blacks are just too sensitive. "






 

They deserve a break, and black folks and mental health.

O has a lot of haters out there, but there are a lot of you Negroes who love him as well. His latest domestic initiative is something that we all should love him for.

I don't know about the rest of you, but I really feel for those poor home- care workers who bust their asses every day (and night) while taking care of old folks who have been abandoned by their own children.

"The presidency is a powerful position. So powerful that it makes it easy to forget the reason one entered public service. But this president, President Obama, never forgets. Today was another shining example of a president who never forgets about the Americans who work hard, don't ask for much, and deserve better than they're getting. Today, the administration announced final regulations to include home care workers under the Fair Labor Standards Act, making them eligible for minimum wage and overtime pay staring in 2015.

...the U.S. Department of Labor announced a final rule today extending the Fair Labor Standards Act's minimum wage and overtime protections to most of the nation's workers who provide essential home care assistance to elderly people and people with illnesses, injuries or disabilities. This change will result in nearly two million direct care workers — such as home health aides, personal care aides and certified nursing assistants — receiving the same basic protections already provided to most U.S. workers.

Home care workers are some of the hardest workers doing some of the most important work in our country with the least amount of rewards. They care for the most vulnerable Americans - the elderly, the disabled, and people with serious injuries and illnesses. They do some of the toughest work - bathing, cleaning, moving and comforting people who cannot do it on their own.
The people they care for are our parents, our brothers and sisters, our neighbors, our sons and daughters, the people we love the most. And today, the people we entrust with this critical care can breathe a little easy knowing that while they're looking out for the society's most vulnerable, they have a president who is looking out for them. Today, they know that their president won't sit idly by while their employers (home care agencies) take advantage of lax labor rules to line their corporate pockets.

Of course, this isn't just a matter of doing the right thing - not that that wouldn't be reason enough. This is also about ensuring high quality services by making sure the professionals who provide these critical services are treated like professionals. This is as much about protecting quality care for the recipients of their services as much as it is about the workers who do this amazing work.

Let's talk a little about the workers who do this work. 90 percent of them are women, 32 percent are African Americans and 12 percent Hispanics. Notice something? These are also the groups with the highest poverty rates in this country. A good part of that wage disparity is because of labor rules that value their work less than the work of the rest, because we have regulations that say the industry they provide their critical skills and services to does not have to abide by the same rules of fair labor standards as everyone else.

Well, no more. Because of President Obama, a home care worker will no longer be equated with a babysitter.

The Republicans and corporate interest groups are howling with their tired old talking point that affording basic worker protections to hard working caregivers will cost jobs, hours, and fewer people availing themselves to the services provided by these working people. The Labor Department countered that of there has been no noticeable drop in employment in this industry in the 15 states that already extend minimum wage and overtime protections to home care workers." Good for you, O. Keep this up and I might even let your accidental diplomacy when it comes to foreign policy slide.

Finally, I hate to agree with Don Lemon so soon after he agreed with Bill O'Lie-ly, but he is right with his latest assertions about black folks and mental health. His statements about the shooter in D.C. was on point.

You Negroes need to stop going to the preacher to heal your mental health issues and get a real mental health professional to talk to. The Rev. has a degree in theology, not psychology. And some of these preachers don't have a degree at all. I know, I know, they were called by a "higher power", but that higher power put people on earth to handle this kind of stuff.

Getting your mind right is just as important as getting your body right. Black folks need to stop stigmatizing family members and friends who suffer from poor mental health.

"If we don’t wake up to these realities, that we cannot pray it away, the next time we see a crime on the news, especially a mass shooting, the first question you might ask yourself; is it the usual one? Oh, no, are they black? You know you all do it; I hope they’re not black. It might be the same one that the haters are posing on the Internet. If Obama had a son would he look like the killer?"

Well Don, we still have a long way to go to catch up to those "haters" when it comes to mass killings, but I get your point.

Don's five point plan.

I need to holla at my boy Don Lemon real quick. The CNN host has been catching some heat from his my people after his recent rant about what is ailing the black community. (Memo to Don: Never start an editorial about black folks by invoking the name of Bill O'Reilly.) 

Don thinks that if we could just get the young bucks to start pulling up their pants and stop dropping the N-word, we would all of a sudden get black unemployment down to 7%, and get the government to start focusing on urban issues. He thinks that implementing his five point plan would get the GOP to start focusing on passing legislation that would address things such as education and fighting crime, instead of how to control a woman's body and defunding "Obamacare".

The thing is, I actually agree with some of the things that Don talked about, (most black folks do) but when he goes on CNN of all places and preaches down to us as if these aren't things we talk about all the time, it's a problem. I am guessing that if Don had made these statements on BET or TV One (sorry Oprah, not OWN; I still don't trust you to keep s*** among us) most black folks would not have a problem, but putting white folks in our business to the delight of clowns on the right and the FOX NEWS crowd is not cool. It's never cool to side with the "professional assassins" of black folks. Besides, I have news for Don: the people he should be trying to reach are not watching his show on CNN. Some of the people that he and the bloviator over at FOX like to bash are the ones that he is going to have to reach out to get the message across to a generation of lost souls. Some young buck in North Philly who dropped out of school in the 10th grade and is slinging dope on the corner is not going to listen to two talking heads who are paid to drive up their ratings on television. One is an egomaniacal racist and the other is a sheltered dude from Baton Rouge who sometimes means well but cares about his television career more than improving the lives of black folks.

"And number one, and probably the most important, just because you can have a baby, it doesn't mean you should. Especially without planning for one or getting married first. More than 72 percent of children in the African-American community are born out of wedlock. That means absent fathers. And the studies show that lack of a male role model is an express train right to prison and the cycle continues. So, please, black folks, as I said if this doesn't apply to you, I'm not talking to you. Pay attention to and think about what has been presented in recent history as acceptable behavior. Pay close attention to the hip-hop and rap culture that many of you embrace. A culture that glorifies everything I just mentioned, thug and reprehensible behavior, a culture that is making a lot of people rich, just not you."

The irony is, of course, that the people Don says that he is "not talking to" are  the only ones who are listening to him, and we all want to know why he chose this particular forum to have his conversation.

Another chef cooking up the N-word.

Sometimes you just have to back off that racism chase. Every chase just isn't worth it. (Like Sarah's“Lax-a-daisical,” comment.) I have to save my racism chasing legs for real racism.

Take the case of FOX Master Chef contestant, Krissi Biasiello. (In picture) I know that like another more famous white female chef, she was caught dropping the N-word, but Krissi being a racist shouldn't be worth a chase from the kid. Krissi does not have the power or the influence of Paula Deen, so she is basically just another racist in America. (Yawn) Her N-word is getting attention because she is on a popular television show.

A reporter for the Philadelphia Daily News unearthed the two now-deleted tweets showing MasterChef contestant Krissi Biasiello making some pretty derogatory comments last year.
“[W]hy do the [Philadelphia] 76ers keep coming up in my who to follow,” she asked in the first tweet from 2012. “i HATE basketball. NBA = Niggers Bouncing Around,” she explained, punctuated with a “#thatsracist” hashtag. [Tweet image below edited by Daily News reporter.] 

In another tweet from July 2012, Biasiello wrote: “Better make sure you’re on top when sleeping with a black guy … Otherwise it’s probably rape.” The tweet links to what seems to be a ChaCha poll on whether you prefer to be on the “top” or “bottom” during sex.

Biasiello is a 34-year-old paralegal based out of Philadelphia. She is currently placed within the top 11 contestants on this fourth season of MasterChef, a competitive cooking reality program co-hosted by Gordon Ramsay.
Following Molly Eichel’s Daily News report, Biasiello has deleted her account; but her official MasterChef account remains active." [Source]

I see you Krissi, and if you are sleeping with someone, be they black or white; let me say for the record that they deserve a medal of honor. Just saying.

Finally, CNN is examining the N-word tonight, and Don Lemon promoted the program by holding up an "index card" with the word "Nigger" on it. CNN, always looking for a ratings edge, is trying to cash in on the N-word being all over the news of late. I suspect that FOX will give the N-word their own special treatment next:

"Why can blacks say the word "Nigger" and we can't? That is not fair. If blacks can say the word Nigger to each other then so can we."

I think that you will be hearing a lot of that on Don's program. I know his position about the use of the word among blacks; he is against it.

But do we really need an entire cable news program dedicated to the N-word? Clearly the CNN bean counters believe that we do.

It looks like the hunting partner from hell is at it again. You would think that after the guy bought himself a few more years on this earth he would go off to Wyoming somewhere and sit next to a hot stove so that he can get used to the temperature in the place where he will be spending his time after he leaves us. Instead, he is at it again. The guy is criticizing the sitting president and his administration.

 "He has been an unmitigated disaster to the country," Cheney said of President Barack Obama.
"I can't think of a time when I felt it was more important for us to defeat an incumbent president today with respect to Barack Obama. I think he has been an unmitigated disaster to the country," Cheney said at the Wyoming Republican Party state convention in Cheyenne on Saturday.

"I think to be in a position where he gets four more years in the White House to continue the policies he has, both with respect to the economy, and tax policy, and defense and some other areas would be a huge, huge disappointment," the former Vice President said. " [Source]

I suppose when you have to live with needlessly sending thousands of people off to die, and destroying the economy in the process, you have to put the focus on the other guy so that we can all forget what an absolute mess you made of your eight years.

Don't worry Mr. Cheney, I suspect that you won't be around to see what a huge disappointment this president has been. Sadly, what might have been a perfectly good heart has been wasted on you.

Anyway, I wonder if when the race war that conservatives have been predicting finally comes to A-merry-ca they will use the self defense strategy to justify the killing of those brown folks?

That clown in Norway tried to use it. Unfortunately for him I don't think he will be that successful. I suspect that my right wing friends will want to make the same arguments here; that multiculturalism is such a threat to the future of the republic that drastic measures must be taken to stop it.

One thing conservatives will have to learn to do, though, is tell us Negroes apart. Mike Tyson looks nothing like Dr. Eric Dyson, (or Touré for that matter) yet my conservative friends can't seem to tell them apart. This is not good. Are you going to shoot and kill the sympathetic black spy (think Larry Elder, or Jesse Lee Peterson) because you thought he was an agitator? I am telling you that you wingnuts better get your s**t together before the war starts.

We also noted that CNN had relaxed language standards a few weeks ago, playing an uncensored clip of a 911 tape that contained the “f-word” repeatedly. Newsbusters‘ Noel Sheppard had no problem with the “f-word,” but had this thoughtful critique of Lemon’s premise:

Now, weeks after the shooting of Trayvon Martin – as the media try to fabricate a race war to assist the reelection of Barack Obama – not only are CNN employees saying n–ger on the air, a CNN host is advocating the previously offensive term be used in all reports rather than the politically correct one.

Let that sink in. Two stories, six black shooting victims, but Noel Sheppard thinks that quoting the word “nigger” is the problem, and it’s somehow going to lead to a “race war.” The shootings of black people aren’t the problem, the calling black people “nigger” isn’t the problem, it’s the accurate quoting of that word that’s going to cause a deadly race war.

With six black shooting victims at the heart of this story, a reasonable person might think that Sheppard was referring to a war on black people, but he dispelled that in his segment with Lemon last night. After repeating the claim that a race war is imminent because people are talking about racism (not because of the racism), Lemon said “I don’t think we’re on the verge of any race war here. I think we’re beyond that in the United States.”

Do you hear that Negros? "The shootings of black people aren't problem."

“I saw Michael Eric Tyson,” Sheppard began, as Lemon cut in to correct him. ”Dyson,” Lemon said, referring to Georgetown University Professor Michael Eric Dyson.

“Dyson,” Sheppard continued, “on Face The Nation today with Bob Schieffer, and he was saying that if Zimmerman is found innocent, there’s going to be a lot — a lot of problems. There’s going to be a lot of uprisings. So it’s not just me saying that this is possible, Don.”

It’s amusing that Sheppard would confuse Michael Eric Dyson with the textbook example of modern ScaryBlackMan-itude, but is it a telling Freudian slip? Maybe not, but Sheppard also seems to have a problem telling one black pundit from another. While Dyson did appear on Face The Nation, it was Touré who talked about the possible consequences of a George Zimmerman acquittal. [Source]

No Mr. Christopher, it's not "amusing" at all. It's all rather sad.

Finally, I hope Paul Ryan realizes what he is doing to senior citizens in this country. He is scaring grandma and grandpa about their future and causing them to do desperate things.

Silver haired and sweet faced, Darlene Mayes looks like many grannies but according to police, she is one of Oklahoma’s biggest drug kingpins.
Her operation went up in smoke this week, when police entered her home and found 4 pounds of pot and $276,000 cash.

Police found $15,000 bundles of cash stashed away in the home.
Mayes initially told police the money was part of her retirement fund.
Police also say she was packing a semiautomatic pistol and a revolver.
Investigators say her alleged pot-dealing network spanned four states, from Tulsa, Okla., to Arkansas, Kansas, and Missouri.

Police believe she supplied up to 40 percent of the marijuana in that area.
As the mastermind, police believe she had a network of dealers, including her son Jerry who was also arrested.

Law enforcement expert Brad Garrett says harmless looking seniors can sometimes be the most efficient drug dealers.

“It doesn’t surprise me that someone this age would be actively involved in marijuana distribution because there’s just too much money to be made. If they keep a low profile, they don’t talk to many people, and they don’t get greedy, they can go on for years.” [Source]

Don Lemon's Iowa adventure, and welcome aboard Governor Big Hair.

"She came out, after speaking for just a couple minutes,” Lemon said. “There were other reporters and cameras there. And I asked her very respectful questions: ‘How do you think you did in the debate last night?’ and ‘How do you think you’re going to end up in the Ames Straw Poll?’ And her two campaign aides started elbowing me.”

Lemon continued: “I told them, asked them not to elbow me. And then her husband Marcus started doing the same thing. And then he elbowed me into the cart. And I said, ‘You just pushed me into the cart.’ And he goes, ‘No, you did it yourself.’ It was just, I don’t know, why they would choose to do that."

When Bachmann Press Secretary Alice Stewart was asked if she, or Marcus Bachmann, pushed Lemon, she responded simply, “Our number one priority is the safety and protection of Michele Bachmann.” Things were terribly crowded, and it appears that everyone was struggling to get by in the video below, so this looks to be an accident. But as CNN and The Advocate are both reporting the story, we'll wait and see if Lemon speaks out on the subject again. CNN itself adds:

It’s typical for presidential candidates, especially ones as popular as Bachmann, to wind up in a crush of supporters and reporters at campaign events. But Friday’s episode was unusual." [Source]

Oh my! It seems that my girl Michele is somewhat of a virago. Anyway,that was Don Lemon talking about his run in with Michele Bachmann and her husband, Marcus. (BTW, Michele Bachmann has won the Iowa straw poll, so girlfriend is legit.) Now Don Lemon, bless his heart, has come out and declared that he is Gay. Do you think he makes Marcus a little uncomfortable? Hey, I am just putting it out there. Cause, you know, "the streets be talkin".

Finally, I see that Governor Big Hair has officially launched his presidential bid. Nice. He chose an interesting place to launch it from. Watching Rick Perry on stage one can't help but think that he is an anachronism. A man so out of place in modern day A-merry-ca (He wants to take his state and secede for crying out loud!) that he actually appeals to folks who want to go back to that Ozzie & Harriet era.

But I am going to leave Governor Big Hair alone. After all, the man just kicked off his campaign. There will be lots of time to talk about his immigration problem, his Catholic problem, his economics problem, his Gardasil problem, (that's an interesting one, look it up) and, of course, his hypocrisy problem.

Oh well, I wish Governor Big Hair well. The next few months should be interesting.
