Some of you Negroes really need to get a clue. Look, I am all for creating a level playing field, and no one despises discrimination-of any kind- like moi. But there are certain things that you just don't -allegedly- do, even if you mean well.
Take the case of Captain Troy K. Gore of the Philadelphia Fire Department. [Capt. Gore is not *shown in the pic with this post] It seems that Captain Gore sent out an e-mail to the leadership of an African American fire fighting organization, and, in it, he allegedly was plotting to get minorities hired by doctoring the "city's computerized application process." No thanks Captain Gore. This is not how we create a level playing field; by-allegedly- cheating. This is what was done to us in the past to insure that we didn't get a fair shot. Now that laws are in place to give us a fair shot, we have to work our butts off to pass the written and physical tests.
"Gore said he had rescinded his e-mail minutes after he sent it and sent a follow-up message: "This is a bad idea. Forget I sent it and be blessed. Just trying to get people hired."
In an interview, Gore said: "It was just a thought that came to my head. It wasn't something I ever intended on doing."
In an interview, Gore said: "It was just a thought that came to my head. It wasn't something I ever intended on doing."
Valiants president Kenneth W. Greene Sr. provided a copy of the e-mail to The Inquirer along with a statement rejecting its contents.
"We regret the need to issue this statement, but find the suggestions made in the e-mail to be most unfortunate, and feel that we must disassociate our organization, in the strongest possible terms, from any possible suggestion that the conduct proposed in the e-mail is acceptable," read the statement, released Friday.
Deputy Mayor Everett Gillison on Friday called the e-mail "highly inappropriate" and asked Ayers to look into it. Gillison and Ayers said they had not seen the e-mail before The Inquirer provided a copy.
"I look at this as serious, and we're going to continue to investigate," Ayers said. "We're going to find out exactly what happened here."'
Here is hoping that this is not the tip of a very large iceberg. If it is, some very good men could have their stellar careers in the department now viewed with a jaundiced eye. That would be sad. Because the last thing that we need in post racial A-merry-ca, is something that gives those folks who want to take us backwards a reason to gloat. [Story]
And now for a positive uplifting story: (No, not a Lark sighting.) I have to give a BIG SHOUT OUT to the wonderful and inspirational young men of Urban Prep-, which is an all male African American school in Chicago. Every single one of the 107 young men graduating have been accepted to college. EVERY SINGLE ONE! Damn it feels good to write that. I guess all of the young men in our inner cities aren't "street pirates", as some people just love to point out.
Young men, that is serious field Negro behavior.
Thanks for the story Barbara!

What city's computerize process. There are no online applications or test. What is he talking about? The city is pretty technology challenged and it seems it employees are even more so.
Oh, Hahahahaha! I had to laugh at the firemen article.
Listen up, here in PR the fire department is the biiiggest political hirer, what I mean is that if you're a really good party activist you get a letter from the mayor and one from your representative and you are in. But you really have to be a diehard activist. Here in PR, except for the ocasional brushfire, the only thing firemen do is watch tv, play videogames, and shoot the breeze. and of course get paid! LOL! The water and electric works are the two other political reward agencies. They're the highest paying agencies on the island. In these three agencies you will also find the ne'er do well relatives of government oficials!
So It's funny to me that everybody should be fussing over this, heck, if he was here, he'd be lauded as a wonderful, loyal, company man! LOL!
Such is life! I love it.
I say leave the guy alone. He's only trying to help! ;)

The political fallout is continuing for a man who, as CEO of the Tennessee Hospitality Association, sent out an e-mail comparing first lady Michelle Obama to a chimpanzee.

LOL@ cactusrose. No cactusrose, here the fireman have to be on their game. Trust me. Too many row homes and historical districts. Fires are serious business here. And we have lots of them. :(
Nsangoma, I heard about that guy a few days ago. I can't chase the big R man every damn where. Let me guess; he was a republican.
"The city is pretty technology challenged and it seems it employees are even more so.
Well.....
@ Field: plus I believe, and correct me if I'm wrong, that all firemen in the states have to be paramedics also?
Over here the majority are fat, potbellied, sluggish and slooooow!
Haha, They never actually "run", not even "rush" anywhere, except to lunch and dinner, much less actually rescue anyone! At the brushfires, you see them trying to get a hold of the hose, all looking at each other, they don't even know what to do or where to begin, it's a joke! (The majority)
Just saying, might as well laugh so as not to cry! But I love it here......
But on a serious note, my thoughts are that Gore's just trying to level the playing field and pay it forward!
After all, all's fair in love and war, and this, baby, is WAR! ;P
After a tough day, the Field comes through with great news!
Thanks!
Gore should resign. You know anything dealing with past hirings he had a hand in will be investigated. Any future ones will always be suspect. He wrote his own epitaph with that email.
A big applaud to the guys at Urban Prep! And to their instructors.
Yes cactusrose, I am pretty sure that they do. I know here in Philly they do.
Always glad to oblige, Captain C. :)
Oh man, how the now Hispanics turn to their German influence on the George Lopez show tonight. Field, I'll be damned. The element.
Speakin' of chasing the R, how about this one: Earthquake in Haiti, magnitude 7.0, 300,000 dead. Earthquake in Chile, magnitude 8.8 (500 times as powerful), 800 people dead.
Ah, forget it. Nothing to see there. Damn racist tectonic plates.
How about we all seek the best possible candidates and let the chips fall as they may?

I chased it you blog it :)
Now let me go see what you've been talking 'bout.

The boys at Urban Prep are indeed kicking serious behind!
Congrats to those young men!
Isn't there a case before the SCUMUS 5 having to do with the Philly Fire Department?
Field: Yuo want a level playing field? Does that mean you are against racial preferences in hiring or admissions?
"Field: Yuo want a level playing field? Does that mean you are against racial preferences in hiring or admissions?"
Nope! Because there are many factors that determines whether an individual is qualified for admissions to a particular school. Such as, for instance, background. The circumstances that individual had to voer come at home, etc. The school might want a more diversified campus to help the learning experience for all of their students. The same could be said for a company. A fire department is a different story.
Besides, there is difference between taking consideration for individuals who might have passed but not with as high a score (see the link I provided) and jut flat out cheating.

All the graduates of Urban Prep are goin to College!!?!?!?!?!?
Good, maybe they'll learn to read. Seriously, they'd be better off learning a trade, plumbing, auto repair, computers, military.
BTW, they're bringin "Freaknic" back to the A-T-L, its sorta the "Black Spring Break" since y'all are too lazy to go all the way to Florida. Thousands of College Students of Color party on the streets, dance, and get arrested.
And don't blame me, it was the N-Word Mayor and City Council who shut it down, most of us sort of enjoyed it, sort of like how you'd rather have a bunch of yellow jackets swarming in one yard, than spread out through the neighborhood...

BTW sorry about misdirecting your blog about the Precious controversy. If its okay with you I am going to throw out some points for people to consider again when thinking about the social usefulness of the movie.
I will also supply some quotes that the author made that absolutely floored me. I think it reveals more why we have to always use our minds, which is why the Afro sphere blogs exist in the first place.
I am glad for the children of the Chicago Urban Prep Academy that were chosen by lottery and succeeded.
Wouldn't it be nice if we could figure out a way for the public schools to do for our children and the children of poor folks what they manage to do for children in the suburbs or in the upper crust sections of our cities.
I am still haunted and impressed with Jesus parable about the lost sheep. I wish that our success would not be exceptionalism but the rule.
The struggle continues I guess
mell:
ditto
the main things they do are:
swiftly expel students who have no interest in learning...ie bully moron heathen clones of apoi etc
demand that parents be involved and not absentee
demand that children do homework etc and not just warm seats all day
there are other things
but these are the MAIN things they do while most public school teachers are forced to be wardens all day/chase invisible parents who dodge their calls with blocked cell phones/pretend that overcrowded rooms filled with buck wild medicated children is conducive to actual learning etc
Wouldn't it be nice if we could figure out a way for the public schools to do for our children and the children of poor folks what they manage to do for children in the suburbs or in the upper crust sections of our cities.
How do you suggest we get the parents to become more involved?
Kids in charter school do better because the parents are more involved with their children.
anon:

You are saying God is racist, but I am saying the tectonic plates are racist. Easier to say that than to say the Haitians are poor idiots.

So you are NOT for a level playing field. The only thing that should matter is one's qualifications for the job / position. Anything is bullshit discrimination.
I honestly believe these types of under the table acts take place all the time. In all fields and practices. Why do I believe such? I just do. Seems to me Captain Gore simply ended up getting ratted.
After he sent the email, perhaps, Gore realized it was a bad idea. Or, he merely received that 'feeling' one gets as they realize 'yep. that was a bad idea' and simply tried to cover his back.
Good stuff Field. I read about the students over on black folks don't swim, and it's really something good to show around to local schools.
Re this "the Haitians are poor idiots."
Actually, houses in Haiti were built to withstand hurricanes, not earthquakes. Chile has a history of strong quakes so their building codes were very much like those in California, lots of rebar.
The tectonic plates favor those prepared by historic events.

So right Ab, you hit the nail on the head!
Recently, I took my kindergarten age son to school because he missed the bus, and his teacher who is a Black woman (thank God!)
said to me "Whatever you're doing keep doing it because T***** is an exceptional student. She told me all the other students come to my son and ask him questions. Being from Carribean descent, I was raised differently. No offense to my amerry-can brothers and sisters, but my entire family that I Know personally, were all raised by parents who didn't play that. My sister graduated H.S. two years early, went to college and is successful, my little brother is finishing school, my mom is a dean at a university. I was the underachiever of the family, but in good 'ole amerry-can pull yourself up by your bootstraps fashion, my wife and I have a succesful business together. It can be done, you just gotta work hard sometimes, that's what I show my kids through example.I'll be damned if one of my babies grows up to be a "street pirate", as the unconstipated one likes to label our children as.

Hey Stacks I feel you and I am not offended but take note that many born and bred Africans living in America had to take their education seriously as well. You aren't as different as you think.
Alicia (and anyone else interested in an open no name calling discussion)- are you ready for the DISCUSSION? Breath deeply and hear me out.
My problems with Precious-
1)- The movie is not redemptive and the author asserts that some people are beyond redemption. Why in a racist society would you put together a piece of art and put it on the open market that displays black humanity as "unredeemable."
Sapphire said in an interview with Ed Hardy of LA Weekly,
"I think to show the mother as not a redemptive character, to show her as perpetrator, was in some ways to break the stranglehold of black female victimhood. Part of being fully human is that we are victimizers also...
"I was trying to show the decayed soul, the soul that is past redemption. And some of us are."
AB in all my life I have never heard anyone say that someone was beyond redemption. It is bad theology no matter what your religion. And even if you are an atheist it goes the credo and street philosophy even that,'everyone has a little good in them.'
there ARE people beyond redemption but most of them are mentally ill in some way and refuse treatment.
mell:
we must agree to disagree on this film
one of my best friends hates it so bad that she hates monique now...sad
she is not a teacher
and she is a great mom of 3
she has no idea what i have watched escalate for decades
i see CYLCLICAL GENETIC EXPERIENTIAL INTERGENERATIONAL young parents that are WAY beyond redemption every day
bill cosby penned an entire book about it...and he is still crucified for telling those truths
i saw the film through the eyes of an early childhood teacher who sees a generation of shaniya davises daily!
i do not know one teacher who was offended by this film...we saw it as a public shout about a public wound that needs to be healed in open air asap!
Plenty of earthquakes in the Carribean. In 1946 an 8.0 quake hit the Dominican Republic. Haiti doesn't do too well in hurricanes either.
mell:
my wife is a child therapist
she has dedicated her life to boys and girls damaged and abused and neglected even more than precious...their stories make precious look spoiled!
ie
when my wife watched this film she pointed out monique's superior qualities to some:
ie
groceries
an apt with a roof and furniture
a nice couch etc
precious had her own furnished room...
these are the things that detached persons take for granted are unable to notice/fathom...
another friend is a social worker...she is 35 and clinically depressed at what she calls
"parenting less humane than animals"
ie
she routinely sees kids with scalp infections
due to chronically unwashed hair/braids...lice etc...
even animals lick their babies clean daily!
she may change careers to become a pc tech soon...she says her heart cannot endure the wrenching wk she does each day
ask any teacher how filthy some babies are each day and often of mom's who live at the salon and nail shop!!!...
some children come to school so dirty we have to change their clothes before field trips etc...we have to teach them to groom etc/wipe because their young parents only teach them to master play station and dirty dancing!!!
we all see the world from our own rainforests...and my forest is filled with kids & parents like precious and her horrid mom or worse!!!
mell:
my wife also noted
someone taught precious to cook
albeit unhealthily
probably that horrid lazy mom
that is a survival skill that many kids never acquire
many kids live off of ramen noodles and fast food
even young men lament women their age who cannot cook for them
i know young men who chase cougars for the meals!
many kids live off of candy and soda and chips!
some kids live with NO utils and cannot even cook on a hot plate!
this is a reality we ignore in affluent america where we pretend we have no real hunger or poverty
just because we cannot handle that it exists in the same zip codes we share...

I hear you but I am your brother lol.
My point sis is not that there are not folks who exist like Precious, my point is that the greater community does not care and will not do a thing to lift a finger to help the poor and unfortunate victims of incest and familial abuse.
Why do you think that white folks overwhelming loved this movie? I'll tell you what I think. I think some folks find black depravity entertaining. I also suspect that it allows some folks to feel superior. There is a history of white paternalism towards blacks this reminds me of it. They know and have known that the ghetto exists but I don't see them crying tears over it, after all thats where Precious lives.
Again Alicia I am talking about the piece of art called Precious and why in a decidely racist society the portrayal of black people as unredeemable plays into racist stereotypes.
And in this climate of neo-racism I think this is indeed not good.
And to make my point further you should read some of the reviews about the movie writtten by white reviewers. I will relate the crazy social analysis that one Jewish reveiwer wrote to make my point.
Like you I am not just writing about things I don't know, I have been in the fields.
I am adopted and a victim myself of familial abuse and experienced bullying in school and all kinds of cruel acts, but I am not trying to make all black folks pay for what happened to me, like Lee Daniels seemed to be set on doing. And Oprah to a lesser extent. Hell they can afford counseling!
I have worked with teenage incest victims (white) and all kinds of abuse victims when I was a young counselor. I was a youth minister in the inner city where I literally saw it all, I have campaigned against youth violence and police brutality. I have seen it all and know what goes on.
But again I have never met anyone that had nothing good about them, like Mary in the movie. Usually a mother this bad is an alcoholic or drug addict or mentally unbalanced, according to the movie she was neither. And usually one family member is decent and helpful even Precious grandmother was trifling. This was total depravity and unfortunately too many people believe that this is a real reflection of many black lives rather than an aberration.
mell:
i really do not care what whites think or like or not
and i never expect any movie to tell every story
i did not expect "the color purple" to depict all blacks
just one rural family
precious has nothing to do with millions of black lives...even my own!
but it is a true picture of millions especially those who are 10 and under today...
no film will ever please anyone
and because we have so few balck films...it is always an unfair burden
ie
i think "booty call" is a hilarious silly film
many hated it too
it is no epic...just mindless fun
when wm make "jackass" it is not seen as defining all wm
and neither should precious define all blacks

And that's okay but its not okay to grind it on folks who have not caused him harm and put a whole people out there (making them look depraved)for what happened to him in his life and childhood.
I had an awful childhood that would rate up there with some of the stuff Daniels had to put up with. To this day I have no idea who my father is and my birth mother somehow lost her mind after doing an excellent job of raising the majority of my older siblings.
I caught hell but I dealt with it.
You probably can guess that I had problems with Monsters Ball. He took our black queen Halle Berry and made her grovel up to a glorified trashy white cop. And right on cue Hollywood awarded her for playing to many white men's fantasy. But thats another story. I'll leave it alone before someone accuses me of being anti-white.
But I would like to see folks applaud movies in which black folks are heroic and principled and just human beings. Akila and the Bee was very inspiring but folks weren't raving over it. And so was the Great Debaters and that movie Will Smith played in where he tried to make right a wrong he had done by helping folks. People weren't reportedly seeing it three times like one reviewer reported that he did after seeing at Sundance.
What is it about Precious that he found so captivating? Was the fact that black folks have always been used to project other folks depravity upon.
And you know and I know that the way people are portrayed in film and art does have an affect on how they are treated and how they are viewed come social policy time.
Those who are deemed second class and thus unredeemable are not funded their children (those same Precious's) are left to fend for themselves.(Thus Obama announces domestic budget cuts and leaves the defense budget untouched.)
In Nazi Germany before they began to deport the Jews then put them in camps then put theme in ghettos the Nazi's saturated the movies with aniti-Jewish films showing Jews in the most depraved situtaions. And no doubt there were some Jews as depraved as they were depicted and greedy and selfish but it was not the point. The poijt was to paint them all with the same brush. And the films used were not all made by Nazis nor were they all made with the idea of being used for anti-Jewish propaganda. Some of the filmmakers meant well and were not anti-semitic.
Thanks Field and thank you for letting us flesh out our ideas.
I see I see- What do you think? Is anyone really unredeemable is there anyone God would not grant a shot at redemption.
"Let the redeemed say so"
Plenty of earthquakes" and then a single reference from '46. Whereas Chile has had 16 major quakes since '43 (over 6.0) and 5 of them were over 8.0. Here's the wikipedia list:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_earthquakes_in_Chile
The last earthquake to strike Haiti (comparable to the most recent quake) struck 250 years ago.
AB appreciate the compliment and yes I did notice the a person of interest took a shot at you.
Who knows maybe one of these days the Field Negro's blog will be known for not just its lightning rod subjects and discussions. But also for the respectful way in which the posters respond to one another. This is how real progress is made when we actually listen and examine our ideas and hold onto what is useful to help move humanity forward and discard those that hold us back, or clog up the works. I can hope.
Mell, are you male or female?
Okay I'll bite. I don't know how that got started but I have written commentary for years and no one assumed that I was female or gay (lol)
I am a straight male and there are a few folks who respond on fields blog who will tell you that nothing about me would imply I am other than a red blooded male.
Again as I said earlier its a shame that a man who takes his religion seriously and who is a serious advocate of racial and economic justice while being vehemently opposed to the exploitation of human beings in the Third world for the benefit of human beings in the so-called developed world and is therefore opposed to the system that encourages and continues to exploit and oppress folks both at home and abroad has to be viewed as a woman or gay.
I am a man who cares deeply and is empathetic and sympathetic to the needs of the poor, the young in the ghetto and out, the imprisoned, those who are sick without access to health care, young girls (who have been molested and abused and are left with no self image and are used as objects to please men),the old who may or may not have someone to care for them, males, females, gay and straight, and who is concerned about the living conditions of folks all over the world whether they be Haitian or Chilean.
Does that answer your question?
Mellaneous, I'm sorry you feel bad over my upbringing, that was not my intent.
Nice swipe though!
I feel you on the precious movie, it was like one big stereotypefest.(my word)
A big, fat girl steals a whole bucket of chicken? That alone is stereotypical. I can't think of how a movie like this will show my children anything positive?
I am ALL FOR BLACK, but this is something we could do without.
"my wife also noted
someone taught precious to cook
albeit unhealthily
probably that horrid lazy mom
that is a survival skill that many kids never acquire
many kids live off of ramen noodles and fast food
even young men lament women their age who cannot cook for them
i know young men who chase cougars for the meals!
many kids live off of candy and soda and chips!
some kids live with NO utils and cannot even cook on a hot plate!
this is a reality we ignore in affluent america where we pretend we have no real hunger or poverty
just because we cannot handle that it exists in the same zip codes we share..."
Exactly AB, these are fairly remedial skills alot of children don't learn at home.
I've met adults male and female who didn't brush their teeth regularly. Ramen noodles are a permanent item in alot of Black households. Do you know how much sodium is in that shit??? High blood pressure is a risk factor for the Black community. There's alot more education out there besides school education. We must encourage our kids to learn the various things about ourselves as Black people. This is information that can save lives, and most schools don't think Black children are important enough to address these issues, ultimately it's up to us as the elder generation to teach them these things.
GREAT input from AB and Mell!!!
Mell, I agree with you about the Halle Berry oscar, that's one we ALL could have done without and the crotch shot? WTF???
About Ramen noodles, I had to eat them growing up and I haven't eaten them since I graduated high school, LOL. Today, my grocery store preference is Whole Foods but ironically I HAVE to keep ramen noodles on hand because 2X per week my daughter just HAS to have them for dinner, ROTFMAO!!!
mell:
you are my hero bro
u made it with your heart and soul in tact
just like precious
i have had a very looong day
been up since 5am
more asap
briefly:
i adore our discussion
thank u for allowing me to debate without being attacked...that is rare herein
and that is the ONLY reason i thought u were female...i am so used to being attacked by the misogynist illiterate insecure male clones of uts/apoi or their demonic yeti stepford drones like dicedicyicy...
i adore monsters ball
the raw sex fit the raw themes
i did not see 2 interracial people
i did not see halle violated
i really DO get how others saw that tho
and i detail that in my review
i saw 2 humans who both abused their sons to death and thus bonded
see more:
http://webspace.webring.com/people/rm/monicasass/mball.htm
yes
ramen noodles are cheap quick poison
and sadly they have become a staple for the poor of all races
i love them too
but i eat them sparingly as i do all junk food
i have even done lessons on how to strain them and boil some fat and salt out and add meat and veggies for my students
i am a severe genetic diabetic
i have to watch every calorie i intake/choice i make
and i am meticulous about my diet as it is literally life and death for me
but ALL asian food is addictive to me...it is my greatest culinary passion even more than soul food...
____
no film will ever tell every story
no director should ever have to rep an entire race
precious is one great true typical story to me
far more realistic than monsters ball
ditto for the color purple in its era
i wish we all could see precious as the heroine she is
and thank you for being heroically inspiring too my dear brother warrior!
____
i love lee d
because most people choose to evade painful truths or hard dark emotions
he wallows in them and makes his pain art the same way billie holiday did when she made the death rattle of a junkie's vocal cry melodious...
more asap
ab
stacks:
ditto
i have heard a lot about the chicken scene
it is comic relief to me
and yes it is overly stereotypical
but
there are no ihops/chic breakfast diners/faes etc in most hoods
many students eat fried chicken and egg rolls etc from gas station chefs/fry shacks because those are the ONLY restaurants in the hood
mell:
this discussion made me think about 2 other films
boyz in the hood
&
poetic justice
i adore all john singleton's wk
but my wife and other friends really hate on him
some hate is because of his personal life
which i never trip about as deeply as i see all celebs as flawed humans like the rest of us
it is how i can adore mj's music and still hate his bleaching and pedophilia etc
it is how i can love wyclef
warts and all
BUT
i have had deep discussions about how john s may hate women in his personal life
he had a turbulent relo with tyra banks and askia bousia (nettie) dumped him even while 6 mos pregnant etc
many females feel his wk reflects that same hatred
i think he gets a bad rap like tyler perry
ie
many of his female roles are weak
but many are ideal
ie
tyra f v. angela b in boyz
and
ALL the weak women in rosewood did piss me off!
BUT (re precious)
john's crackheads in both films really upset many females
i was never upset
i have seen TOO many sorry young moms who really were addicts to ever be mad at john s for that
so
again
like crackhead moms
precious is very real to me
____
i also love spike lee
his films have major female flaws too
ie
she's gotta have it
had a predatory lesbian and a rape scene masked as erotica
but most of spike's wk is great
in spite of his own admitted colorism and sexism
and many actresses dog spike out
when his films end...
like the stars of
jungle fever
&
mo betta blues
like lee d and john s and spike and tyler...all directors are human
so are their singular tales
i never expect perfection in any...
i ramble when i am tired
sorry
bye
ab
i meant:
NO cafes with omelettes etc in most hoods
ab, I haven't seen the movie yet, but obviously it provided a great script for a new star to be born!
The movie must have touched the hearts of many in many ways.
anon:
ditto!
please do see it
gabby sidibe is a novice and she has never acted before!...her actress pals forced hre to audition because of her physical look which lee d solicited...
she was awesome!
the breadth of her role was just very limited compared to her oscar contenders...
&
she has already begun making 2 more films...her own oscar night is yet to come!
if you have ever been hurt, verbally abused, rejected, had anyone tried to kill your spirit and limit your life in any way...you will relate to this film!
ie
i have great parents
i went to uiuc at age 12
my mom is my best friend
and
i have never been molested
BUT
i have been abused for being gay black and female countless times in my life...ie
in atl i created produced and hosted a legendary FM radio show dedicated to exclusively the voices of black women from 1986-1996...it too me 2yrs to sell it...MANY laughed in my face...i got the last laugh
the show was a mega hit that launched a second somultaneous historical AM talk career and my most loyal fans were MEN!...
as i watched precious and her mom kept telling her to be a welfare drone and stop dreaming of education etc...i recalled all those sexist radio execs who laughed in my face before i refused to take THEIR calls...
to me,
precious was me in those radio ofcs, and she is every person who has ever been sabotaged wounded and STILL survived!

part of the reason i will always despise colon powell and his son michael is they strategically destroyed FCC monopoly rules that allowed neocons to take over all radio...rush clones to silence ALL of us liberals nationally...and black minstrel shows like the tjms to keep all local political black voices OFF of the air....tragic
npr is really the only radio i listen to now...
