FOX NEWS is a "no-go zone".

Over at FOX VIEWS there is a new catch phrase being used to scare their very pale and very old viewers: "No-go zone". (h/t to my twitter fam, Mcbiff)

According to FOX these "zones" are now all over Europe, and they are places where Muslims have taken over and are terrorizing all those who dare enter. FOX went on for an entire week with this foolishness and it got so bad that the French and the British had to jump in and tell the world how clueless these so-called journalists really are.

FOX went as far as to declare that an entire British city was being overrun by Muslims, and that Sharia law was now being officially practiced there.

"And in Britain, it’s not just no-go zones, there are actual cities like Birmingham that are totally Muslim where non-Muslims just simply don’t go in,”.... “And parts of London, there are actually Muslim religious police that actually beat and actually wound seriously anyone who doesn’t dress according to Muslim, religious Muslim attire. So there’s a situation that Western Europe is not dealing with.”'

Lord have mercy!  Where do they get these people?

Honestly, if we are going to be real with ourselves, the FOX VIEWS folks might be on to something.

There are actually "no- go zones" right here in America. They are called ghettos.  Or, let me rephrase that: "urban areas". *laughing*

One of the beautiful things of living in cities such as Philadelphia is being able to use "no-go zones" to your advantage. The easiest way to avoid traffic in and around the city is to drive through "no-go zones" in order to get from point A to point B by avoiding the major highways.

These "no-go" zone streets will be empty because "suburban" commuters will not drive through these urban "no-go zones", even if it will cut substantial time off of their commute.

Anyway, I am glad to announce that there might be a positive end to this story, as FOX VIEWS has finally apologized for lying about "no-go zones" in Europe.

"The network specifically corrected terror expert Steve Emerson's claim that there are "no-go zones" in Europe "where non-Muslims just simply don't go in."

"Over the course of this last week, we have made some regrettable errors on-air regarding the Muslim population in Europe — particularly with regard to England and France," Fox News anchor Julie Banderas said on Saturday. "Now, this applies especially to discussions of so-called 'no-go zones,' areas where non-Muslims allegedly aren't allowed in and police supposedly won't go. To be clear, there is no formal designation of these zones in either country, and no credible information to support the assertion that there are specific areas in these countries that exclude individuals based solely on their religion."

"There are certainly areas of high crime in Europe, as there are in the United States and other countries where police and visitors enter with caution," she continued. "We deeply regret the errors and apologize to any and all who may have taken offense, including the people of France and England."

Of course they will not apologize to their faithful viewers who the have already scared.

But, as we all know, this was the plan all along.

Yes. No-Go zones exist in France and the UK, just the same way they do here in the US.

The Saudis own a signficant chunk of Fox News. They demand Fox News stay on the pro-headslicing muslim plantation.

The "no-go zones" fantasy came from the European equivalents of the American douchebags who invented the imaginary menace of black people playing "the knock-out game."

The idea of no-go zones is so extremely silly, if you give it even a moment's consideration. There are no areas of the U.S. where the police are unable to go. So what is the likelihood that such things exist in Western Europe, where crime is typically far less than in the States?

It's an absolutely absurd suggestion that a small minority group like Muslims (7.5% in France, which is about the highest percentage in Western Europe) could seize sections of their country and run them as independent little nation-states. Just laughable.

As usual, these lies are concocted with the expectation that bigots won't examine them too closely, because they are rage-filled morons.

I don't know much about Europe, I've lived all over Asia and the UK (half of my sibs are dual citizens) and the worst, most crime ridden parts of the UK (excepting Northern Ireland Before Good Friday) aren't any worse than my current suburban Bay Area CA working class city -in many measures far better. Shootings, at least in mainland UK are mostly unicorns. Here they're common everyday happenings. Husbands shoot wives. Boys shoot romantic rivals. Teens get ahold of them and turn what -in a saner place would be fist fights into shoot outs. This just doesn't happen there. If you want to kill someone you have to do it the old fashioned way: face to face eye to eye smelling their last breath and blood. That stops all but the most determined. Guns make killing too impersonal, mechanical, meaningless , and far, far too easy.

Brother Field, do you have to be Black to drive safely through those "no-go zones" in Philly? If so, a white person would have to be a damn fool to take the short cut that could be a short cut to death.

I am Black and live in Chicago. There is no way I will drive through the South Side without being on high alert because Negroes kill each other in droves damn near every day. I always take the long crowded way....I want to live not die. I think PilotX will agree.

MLK Day Eve said...

As we all prepare for tomorrow's Grievance Festivities, now is a good time to reflect how completely absurd the whole exercise is. It is almost inconceivable how anyone could be less oppressed than blacks in the USA. A conspicuously underqualified individual was actually elected president primarily on the strength of being black. As a group blacks are first in line to receive all of the benefits of our society, but are asked to bear less responsibility even than immigrants who just arrived and don’t speak English. But so long as pretending that blacks are oppressed lends a superficial illusion of meaning to otherwise empty lives, that’s the important thing for liberals.

So rah rah rah, hands up, don't breathe I can't shoot, pay up sucker, its MLK Day.

Brother Martin Luther King's day has nothing to do with grievance as if his accomplishments were some sort of second rate deed. The man took a lot of brutality from the dominate race. My stanch at the time was I/my peers were no longer a part of MLK's dreams. So before you minimize the man do a "cyber-walk" and at least you can compare what you are doing versus what he did.

And yes.... I have been close to the dogs. That was their first line of keeping your fright levels high and intact. Now after so many decades I wonder where they(the police) got so many dogs? It seems like they were a part of the white man's arm. Brother Martin confronted dogs, water, Bull Connor-like men many years and still he was back again. Now some commenter have the audacity to minimize this man while avoiding today's tame racial conflicts. And yes I am aware of whites being brutalizes by wayward Blacks. My solution for that is to always have your smoker locked and loaded. America has created some poor souls that are not about any civility. "Made in America"- remember ALL civility was stripped on the voyage over and the plantation/living in America did not offer any nurturing of the injured souls.

StillaPanther2 said...

"going into a burning building" meant that his followers were also in the struggle for civil rights and following him had a high probability of getting hurt.

When my mother went downtown to picket Wool-Worth for having Blacks go to the back of the building to be served, she did not know what amount of police and dogs would be present. Nor did she know that at any moment what hell may break loose. Many people were kILLED following Dr. King's philosophy of non violence.
So "burning building" was analogous to- "you might get your butt scorched following me". And yes... you should know that many whites were lost at the hands of their brethren during the struggle.

I am sure the commenter knew what the phrase meant. He or she wanted to nit pick events that are part of the America's history that tell tales that obviously brings shame to him/she.

america has been on a steady decline since the 1950's.

a burning building.

when facing pharoah, there was no cry to...

integrate.

so when i read of MLK saying that he feared he had led his people into a burning building...

it resonated as if he started to understand his role in the bigger plan. also his views on vietnam and uniting the poor was another indication of his waking up. in many ways he sounded like latter day jfk days. a sound the alarm if you will...

integration has crippled the Black nation. on many levels this appears to be Truth.

to say that MLK was Jew handled and manipulated is an understatement. sharing this does not minimize his efforts. he was but a man. i don't worship him. he was flawed + beautifully human. as are we all.

i don't suppose there is a right nor wrong. MLK is not here to ask...

so there that, too;)

I'm guessing the people who are pushing the Muslim no-go areas meme have never been within 3000 km. of Europe in their lives, and wouldn't recognise a passport if it bit them on their sorry asses.

Until a week ago the vast majority of UK citizens would never of heard about FoxNews, but there has been great hilarity over the claims of Birmingham being a 'muslim-only' city. There're many humorous responses on Twitter using the hashtag #foxnewsfacts

Here are some of the funnier ones taken from a (Right wing!) Uk newspaper....

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2908019/Hilarious-responses-foxnewsfacts-claim-Birmingham-Muslim-city.html

Similarly the French show 'Le Petit Journal' (which Field linked to in his piece) which is roughly the French version of the Daily Show), had a lot of fun sending christians into the "no go areas"of Paris and questioning the startled inhabitants about what it was like living in a Caliphate.

SAP2 and FP, thank for answering the "burning building" question. It has me thinking a lot these days. Although your views differ, in a way, they point to our suffering dilemma then, and now.

I am so tired of the racist crap today. It is an insult to humanity and God. Racism is unbelievably evil and hateful.

I grew up in the 60s. Since that time my hope for the dream MLK had for America has faded away. I don't have much hope for America or Mother Earth.

We humans are too self-destructive. Imo, we are headed by way of the dinosaurs.

I think there may be some Europeans who know better but are still promoting these myths. It wouldn't surprise me if someone like professional Islamophobe Geert Wilders is using "no-go zones" in his speeches when he comes to the U.S.

But the point is these hatemongers know that most of the Americans they are speaking to are willfully ignorant and have never been to Europe, so it's safe to tell outrageous lies to them about how Muslims have destroyed everything and Europe is on the verge of annihilation.

Some of those are pretty funny. I particularly liked this one:

"Birmingham is now SO Muslim, they recently voted to remove "ham" from the name."

Britain is home to some pretty awful right-wing tabloids, but Fox puts them all to shame. We have a large chunk of our populace living inside an impenetrable bubble of Rupert Murdoch-generated disinformation.

This makes it rather frustrating even attempting to carry on a conversation with people who reside inside the bullshit-shield, because most of the stuff they talk about is make-believe. It's like you'll be discussing something sensible, and then they'll launch into a diatribe about how Obama isn't doing enough about the leprechaun problem.

Josh said...

No love for Fox, but it wasn't "Fox" that declared the city a no-go zone. It was a guest on an opinion show. And the lady who hosts the show (some judge something) even made an on-air retraction of the story, along with an apology. Which is something we'll probably never see the likes of MSNBC do. So, while folks and wring their hands and stomp their feet over Fox, the bottom line is that an idiot guest lied, and the Fox host is the one who actually apologized for the lie.

Anonymous said...

@ Josh

Fox deserves zero credit for that. The guest they had on is a semi-regular guest and a serial liar. Fox is now only retracting and apologizing now because this particular lie is such a whopper that people are laughing at them.

The only way Fox could redeem itself at this point for the tsunami of lies they have delivered is to issue a blanket retraction for everything they've ever said, and then go dark, permanently.

The are sections of Birmingham that are "no-go" areas for non-Muslims, meaning the police are afraid to enforce British law.

This is well-known to everyone, and liberal denial is to be expected.

"No-go" zones don't have to be strictly defined geographically. At least 1,400 girls who were groomed and raped over two decades in Rotherham. Most of the victims were working-class. They were typically 12 to 14 when they were lured into a life of drugs, alcohol and abuse. Nearly all the abusers were Muslim men of Pakistani origin.

Authorities tried to bury the problem because they were afraid of being labelled racist, or that it might cost them votes. Front-line workers who tried to get police and bureaucrats to act were repeatedly harassed and intimidated. One researcher who had gathered extensive evidence was told she must “never, ever” refer to the ethnicity of the abusers. Her report was suppressed, and she was sent on a diversity course.

This isn't just happening in South Yorkshire. The same horrible scenes are being played out elsewhere with the same pathetic response from protective services allowing evil rapists to not only continue ruining lives but also feel emboldened in the process.

Muslims aren't immigrants, they are colonists. Hostile colonists at war with the cultures they invade.

And Western governments are actively abetting this invasion. The State is at war with the Nation.

The greatest of men are White. Just like the greatest commenters on FN are White.

You need to reconsider your position and get on the right side of power. And don't give me that "Obama is President" crap. He hasn't been able to do much since he's been in office because Whites wouldn't let him. NOw that's power.

Hell, he couldn't use a 'teaching moment' when a cop in MA arrested a black Harvard Professor in his own home....IN HIS OWN HOME!

Instead, he found himself having a beer on the WH lawn with a cop who was supported by ALL the Whites in America. Now that's White Power. It's evil, but it keeps a black President in his place which is to be submissive to Whites 'regardless' of his status or position.

But you right about one thing: If MLK, or MalcolmX were alive today they would not act like Obama. They both were willing to put their lives on the line for what they believed in.

They don't make Black Men like that anymore. Today, bm are weak, submissive and cowards by comparison of the bm in the 60's.

The Civil Rights period was about 2 decades; this period of time was not stasis and the tactics of Brother King changed during this period. I feel he is a hero because he continued the fight for equality. I don't imagine he had a clue how this nation was going to be after the passage of laws that afforded BASIC rights that the whites enjoyed in all sectors of American life.

MLK worked tirelessly for 10+ years for this goal of human rights for all. In his speeches oft-times he referenced whites that also needed lifting up.

Now, a half century later, the challenge is for more people to respect a man that gave his life for a worthy cause. In life I was not in his camp- but now his goal was met and I look at him a man- something we are still grasping for a hold to that concept.

I will now go back and refresh on Brother King's speeches. Take me back to times when meeting a Black man on the street did not raise my "fear indexes".

Brother, in the 60's, do you recall any daily Black on Black killings in the streets? I don't. Blacks were, for the first time, proud to be who they were. "I'm Black and I'm proud."

All of that is gone. Blacks are downtrodden, and they hate themselves. And, they kill each other because of it.

Today, you don't feel safe on the sidewalk when another brother is coming from the other way toward you.

I am so sad. My heart is so heavy for what has happened to us. So many Blacks died during that time..the Marchers, MalcolmX, the Panthers, MLK so that our lives could be better, we could be free, and our heads could be held high.

For me, it's been the opposite. It's like MLK and MalcolmX were flashes in a pan....poof, and they were gone. And with them, all our values as a people: education, religion, courage, community support, love, compassion, empathy....HEART for each other.

It's as if our spirit as a people has been broken, like the Native American Indians. It's such a horribly sad story of a race on the brink of hopelessness and loneliness and extreme fear.

Anyway, it's always good to see you here. Your comments are potent and it touches the heart---sometimes it pierces the heart but always "insightful Truth."
