Still not good enough Mr. President!

I just saw one of those great You Tube moments on John King's show.

"JOHN KING, HOST, “JOHN KING USA”: You raised this –

DONALD TRUMP, CEO, TRUMP ORGANIZATION: No, no, you raised this.

KING: No, I did not raise this. I did not call the press conference in Palm Beach earlier this week –

TRUMP: Excuse me, you raised this. And every time I sit down with the press, all they want to talk about is the birth certificate. And I got him to do something that nobody else could get him to do, and I’ve been getting great credit for that.

KING: And you - you raised this issue of his credibility, that if he has it, he should release it.

TRUMP: Absolutely.

KING: There are people who question yours in the middle of all this. The other night, you went on "ANDERSON COOPER" and you said your investigators told you it was missing or it wasn't there.

TRUMP: Excuse me.

KING: What was that about?

TRUMP: Excuse me. Very simple. I had people looking into it. Now I don't have to have the people - I can call them back, I hope. I mean, I haven't seen this. I'm sure a lot of experts –

KING: But if – would you ever pay them – if serious people told you it was missing or not there, here it is. Here it is.

TRUMP: Would I pay them? I don’t know. Maybe I'll let you negotiate for me.

(CROSSTALK)

KING: Some people think you just made that up though.

TRUMP: Let me just tell you, I don't make up anything. Let me tell you something. I have done a great service to the American people...."

For more laughs please watch the clip that goes with this link.

I will say this much for Mr. Bad Hair, he fits right in with the republican party. He looked right into the camera and told a lie. When King asked him why he said he was even with the president in the CNN polls he said because he was. When King told him that CNN had no such poll he told King that he [King] was lying and tried to send some flunky to get it [The poll]. CNN and the rest of A-merry-ca is still waiting for proof of that poll. It will never come. Just like we will never hear from the investigators that he had in Hawaii. It was all a lie.

Still, I am mad at O. I did not want him to release his birth certificate. The thought of an A-merry-can president having to release a birth certificate to prove that he is an A-merry-can is astonishing to me. It's why I can't stop blogging about it. Can you imagine? Two years into their presidency one of the previous 43 presidents having questions raised about where they were born?

So there was Mr. Bad Hair today taking credit for O showing a document which every person in A-merry-ca who doesn't see black helicopters over his/her lawn knew existed.

"Yes, but why did it take two years for him to show it. Tell the people, Mr. Obama, why two years? "

Mr. Wingnut, why did he have to show it to you in the first place?

One more point about education and this is coming from my view that integration was the WORST thing to happened to Black kids from K-12.

Again, provide numerous incentives for more Black folks to become teachers and provide tutors from children in those schools where the kids are performing poorly. This type of program could even be linked to one which forgives a certain percentage of a Black students loans in exchange for tutoring Black skids while in college.

And while I'm on my soap box, I need to say that I understand VERY clearly that "someone" benefits when Blacks go to prison/jail and are unhealthy, and so it's no coincidence that the "people" who do benefit aren't anxious to change anything. Here's where the President comes in. He has a moral obligation to Black folks to not only address agenda's which affect us disportionately, but to keep those issues front and center ALL THE TIME because a "black agenda" indirectly IS an American agenda!

LACoincidental said...

Queen you missed my point (not as bad as AB, but that's a whole other story). Some of those ideas overlap (education for all, drug reform) with other movements and should be seen as global issues that affect Black folks acute, instead of distinct Black issues.

Some are simply pipe dreams that don't make sense in realpolitik.

Also, be clear and logical about some of the other stuff. Forcing state universities to 'take Black students into medical school' in some sort of quote is a political non-starter and you know that.

The question should be "why don't more Black and brown kids go to medical school?" and "How do we get doctors into impoverished communities?" If anything, we need to prep students better so they can get into college and medical school (going back to education reform) and pay for students to finish med school if they plan to become general practitioners.

Criminal Justice system? Cool, I'll bite - but we need to build a broad consensus than 'They jailing our Black boys' to 'Drug laws and the prison industrial complex work against poor people in general'. There are plenty of white kids in Appalachia who are just as profiled and under the thumb our criminal justice system as Black youth. Otherwise, with that coalition, we get stuck in the same old arguments where rednecks think that Black folks are getting away with murder.

Also, there is a vested interest in keeping prisons full - because its a jobs program for rural America. So that's another caveat to think about.

blind bumbling mumbling lack:

no one has ever been more myopic than that gangsta repub
hoax hobama and his banksters

and their maniacal myopia has just begun to usher in a new world order that will slay us all

bet!

Barack Obama's latest book reveals the presidential aspirant to be a rank racial accommodationist and political opportunist. The Illinois Senator urges empathy for those in power, labels critics on the Left cranks and zealots, and whitewashes America's past and present crimes. In the final analysis, Obama is an ‘authoritarian corporate imperial insider' - a front-running candidate for betrayal.

It also leads me to wonder if Scialabba bothered to read Obama's book beyond the dust jacket. Did Scialabba see the part where Obama relates youthful discomfort with his college roommates' "irresponsible" criticism of "capitalism" and then confesses respect for Ronald Reagan's supposed success in embodying what Obama calls "American's longing for order" (p. 31)?

How about the part where Obama commends "the need to raise money from economic elites to finance elections" for "prevent[ing] Democrats...from straying too far from the center" and for marginalizing "those within the Democratic Party who tend toward zealotry" (p. 38) and "radical ideas" (like peace and justice)?

In Obama's brand of "progressivism," serious concern over the nation's harsh disparities is consigned to leftist "cranks" and other assorted "unreasonable zealots" - people walking in the "absolutist" footsteps of Marx, the New Left, and (though Obama would never acknowledge this) the democratic socialist Martin Luther King, Jr.

Since they reasonably reject "ideology" and the "moral absolutism" of both Left and Right, Obama feels, the moderately (barely) hopeful American people know better than to push for equality. They embrace "realistic," scaled-down ambitions that are marvelously aligned with the neoliberal project of reducing government's essential functions to serving the needs of the investor class, fighting wars, punishing (and warehousing) the poor and repressing dissent.

It would be interesting to ask some long-injured Vietnam or Iraq war veterans if they share the same perspective on the Vietnam-War-supporting but draft-dodging Bush and Cheney, who had "other priorities" than "serving" in Indochina during the 1960s and 1970s.

If you think I missed ANY point you made, you're mistaken.

Maybe you should try reading my post as it is, instead of through "she's a Black conservative that didn't vote for Obama" colored glasses.

nothing is more myopic than hobama's new elitist brutal budget!

broaden this!

Less than two months after signing tax cuts for the wealthiest Americans into law, President Barack Obama proposed a spending plan to Congress that cuts funding to programs that assist the working poor, help the needy heat their homes, and expand access to graduate-level education, undermining the kind of community-based organizations that helped Obama launch his political career in Chicago.
Obama's new budget puts forward a plan to achieve $1.1 trillion in deficit reductions over the next decade, according to an administration official who spoke to the Associated Press on condition of anonymity in advance of the formal release of the budget.

Those reductions -- averaging just over $100 billion each year -- are achieved mainly by squeezing social programs. A deal struck to extend the Bush tax cuts for just two years, meanwhile, increased the deficit by $858 billion dollars. More than $500 billion of that bargain constituted tax cuts, with billions more funding business tax breaks and a reduction in the estate tax. Roughly $56 billion went to reauthorize emergency unemployment benefits.

It never mattered to Trump if the Birth Cert was legit or not. It's just a pity Trump will go down as the man who finally made Obama "cry uncle" and whip out his birth paper. Regardless, that's how it'll go down and that's all the more false "power" Trump needs and thrives on.

Actually, Queen - I made no assumption about who you voted for. I simply assumed that you voted for Obama were disappointed. But that's really not the point.

Some things just don't make sense in realpolitik - i.e. it sounds great in an academic circle but makes little sense once outside.

I'll give you an example I used before. I used to be part of the reparations movement. Until I started thinking -- 'What is the Reparations movement really trying to solve? Are there other options to get at a solution?'

I realized that reparations itself was a red herring - the real answers and solutions can be achieved alternatively.

Again, food for thought.

>>>>>>>>>>>>

Why are Black so quick to dismiss a perfectly logical idea, educational reparations or free college education for the decendants of slaves, as "not making sense"?

The Jews continue to push their issues despite the fact that many people deny the holocaust occurred.

Why won't Black folks, headed by Prez Obama do the same? I know he can't do this now because he wants to be re-elected, but why won't he push the issue when he's near the end of his second term?

Bottom line is that if a Black president can't/won't push "our" issues, we're screwed!!!!

I knew Trump's ego was far bigger than his hair, maybe the galaxy, but I did not realize that his egomania was at Stage 5 until his birth certificate madness revealed itself.

I was a little disappointed, too, that Obama gave it up, but I guess you do what you have to do when rich white people go on crack.

Why bother with comment moderation when mentally unbalanced people like Alicia Banks is still dominating and peeing all over your threads here?

She has destroyed this website. Two thumbs up to LaShawn Barber for what she would do back when she allowed comments on her blog. She would ban such insanity from her blog.
